LeBron James has respect for Michigan State coach Tom Izzo but he will continue with his plan not to get involved in the Cavaliers' coaching search, a source said on Monday.
A source told The Plan Dealer on Sunday that James would support the Cavs' hiring of Izzo. After hosting him on a visit last Thursday, the Cavs are waiting on an answer on the job offer from Izzo. So, too, is James. But he is doing so from afar.

All along, James has not planned to speak to coaching candidates or lobby for certain coaches to replace Mike Brown. James, according to a source, has not spoken with Izzo about the job or his future and currently has no plans to do so.
He intends to become a free agent on July 1 and does not plan on committing to anything until after he explores his free agent options.
James is not expected to make any sort of promise or guarantee that he'll re-sign with the Cavs no matter who the team ends up hiring.
Izzo did not speak to media members Monday morning when he arrived at Michigan State for the start of his annual youth basketball camp. He declined to discuss the Cavs when a camper asked him a question about it during his address to the group.

If he takes the job, do you think that means he already got the commitment from LeBron off the record?

No. I think LeBron doesnt want to tell them who to hire or bring in (as players) because he doesnt want to feel obligated. He'd feel more obligated to stay if they did what he asked and he wants to go into this unburdened.

I honestly don't think LeBron's heart is in Cleveland. But then again, his heart isn't into Chicago either... We all pretty much know he would like to play for the NYKs (or play near NY), but obviously his head would have to be on backwards for him to go there.

I think this is a great post for the specific info given on the subject.

Though, be honest with yourselves. This is something you already knew, because he stated a few times before that he will in no way be sold off what Cleveland is doing.

He is very much down the middle and for the most gonna let this be one big auction for his above-average services. He seems to not see Cleveland as number one if he is doing what is said above in the article.

This tells me CHI, MIA, NYK & NJN are very much in this. Especially CHI & NYK.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's how I see it. My opinion, and my opinion only.

MIA: I truly believe he wont end up in there. I just don't see him wanting to fight for his identity with a guy who already has a ring. That worse to listen to then the whole Jordan's Shadow subject IMO. Regardless of my opinion they still are a realistic suitor. Their entire bench, like NYK, is free agents. The money is there.

NJN: They have a nice shot (kinda). Thing is, there still falling down a dark hole. This Russian has single-handedly put them on a pedestal so high, if they fall they'll never hit the ground. His ego will be the end of him & that franchise needs players, not talkers (Hello Mark Cuban!).

CLE: His home state, home town-esq team, his true colors. That all great, grand & cute. Thing is this dude is a grown-up now. Being from the state of Ohio & knowing the 'Curse of Cleveland' all to well (bball, fball..). He must love his city & state...no don't about it to me. He also has goals to achieve. Not everybody can stay at home too long. Cleveland has a shot....but as the days go on. I see it less & less happening...

NYK: Now, these boys have a very good guy, and GM, in Donny Walsh. They also have the most annoying fans in all of the NBA (yes, worst then Laker & Sixer fans). Thing is the have even more cash & the self-proclaimed "mecca of basketball". They have a great chance at landing him.

CHI: So here we are. Finally at our beloved Chicago Bulls. During the final two games against the Celtics the rumors of Chi-Town being a great suitor for him blew up! Those last few weeks of May were the longest I've ever dealt with. We kept seeing signs of his jumping ship for Jordan's castle, his childhood team. Now that it is exactly gonna be 15 days starting tomorrow. We have all come down from that proverbial "high". We can see the light at the end of the tunnel coming. James is intrigued by our team. Let's only hope he arrives at the beginning of July.

Ok, I'm finished! :D:woot::bulls:

I think his heart is in multiple places.

He grew up a Bulls fan. He idolizes Jordan. That has to count for something.
Cleveland is his home. His family and friends are there.
New York is just glamorous and he wants to be amongst the beautiful and rich people.

But i truly believe that Chicago and Cleveland are his only real options at this point. Chicago provides the complete package but Cleveland has the money, players and like mentioned, its his home. I dont think Miami, New York or New Jersey stand a chance.

D@mn people! If I were any of you, do not enter the ESPN Bulls or Cavs message boards (especially Cavs). There truly are more children & people with zero sports i.q. waltzin' around there. They argue like there is no tomorrow, if LBJ doesn't sign with their favorite team. :shot:

Then they start pronouncing illegitimate facts on how bad/great certain players are. It almost sounds like "mine's bad, but yours is worst" childish crap. I feel dumber now after wasting time there. :bizarro:

I am gonna stick here from now on. At least we can talk good NBA & b.s. like fellow fans should
(as Bulls & NBA fans in general)

CTB, this is a good choice for Bulls talk. Im sure it will be much better when we get some more people. ESPN is a joke of a board.

Also CTB, do you want to join out CCS Fantasy Football Money League? We need four more people

If someone in the first league wants to switch over to the money league i can give you their spot but i need everyone to take their teams serious.

Well it wouldnt be fair for you to join a money league and not take it serious or want to back out. It would end up being the regular one. But maybe a money league will keep you motivated?

We won't sign any of the major free agents. Mark my word.
