Wouldnt it make sense to sign him to include in a possible big trade for Melo. Think about it...Dampier,Gibson,Deng, and picks to Denver. They finally get their big man that they want.

You can't s&t him since he isn't our player and I don't think you can package other players with teh player your S&t.

Yeess I doubt you could sign him and trade him as far as it goes.

Why not just trade Noah & Deng for Melo and sign Dampier letting him be your starter and there you have a legit contender.

Sorry i meant sign him to your roster since i think Melo will be with the Nuggets for the first half of the season, then as the Deadline gets closer, include Dampier in the Melo trade since the Nuggets want a big man in their deal?

Denver doesn't need a Center, they have Nene that is better than Dampier.

i doubt anyone willing to go too far above the min for damp. Also he's said the heat are a #1 priority for him.

noah might be injury prone for the reasons doug listed in his blogs. he's a smaller guy playing a very physical position.

since boozer IS injury prone, i'm not too sure that damp would help. obviously noah can play the pf position, but damp is far too simliar to noah for us to allow noah and damp to be on the floor together. Really i'd just rest happier knowing that we have a solid backup for certain matchups/eat up minutes/ prevent the heat from getting him.

Wow... Erick Dampier is not good at all anymore. I'd rather have Kurt Thomas than him, because KT isn't fat and slow.

Why should we care if he goes to Miami? I hope he goes to the Heat... That would put a damper (no pun intended) in their run game, and clog a bunch of worthlessness in the paint for their half court offense.

Joel Anthony > Erick Dampier... and that's saying a lot too.

6'11" PF/C's are hard to come by as is. Right now, if we get into situations where our bigs get into foul trouble, injuries happen, if we trade mid-season, we are vulnerable. We passed on Kwame, who isn't great, and now it looks like Dampier wont get a chance here, and he isn't great either.

This leaves us with Chris Richards yet again, and I hope we invite Trent Placiad to camp. We still need SOMETHING, so we can rest players in back to back situations. A walking insurance policy that can play in the paint.

I'll take this guy on my team over Erick Dampier any day of the week:

Yeah, I'd take Rodman too. :D

Anyhow, it looks like Dallas is going to be desperate to fill the PF spot this week, and Miami doesn't have the wiggle room that Dallas has right now. Dampier will likely be a Mav.

Shawn Marion can fill the role of back-up 4 perfectly fine, imo. I don't see them bringing back Dampier to a team that already has 3 true centers (Haywood, Chandler, Ajica).

We'll see. I still think Dampier is a solid player. He's worth the vets minimum, and any team that pays much more will be desperate.

I think you need a time machine for either of those two guys.

Do you mean this figuratively or literally?

I think 12-13ft + 4 arms, 4 legs would easily be better for grabbing rebounds as opposed to Dampiers 7 ft + 2/2 combo of legs/arms.

You obviously underestimate the power of Dampier.

Looks like I may have been right. ;)

Why would he want to play behind Tyson Chandler and Brendon Haywood? He could be a backup or possibly a starter most everywhere else.

I think he still can help the Heat and if I was the Bulls, I would be more afraid if that were to happen. But, he's too old, fat and slow like already mention.

Why the heck would the Bulls be afraid of Erick Dampier? That is a bit much...

I mean being prepared with the already good Heat team. He used to be good and it could of work with the Heat.

Big centers push around Noah a bit, he is a good rebounder and its our biggest advatage now. A healthy dampier is their best center, we won't game plan him but it is a problem.
