I just visited where they were. It is depressing- like a bar on a tuesday night... you walk in with your buddies and are hit with the decaying atmosphere as the door shuts behind you... there is a tired bartender wiping a glass and they perk up as you walk in, happy for new business... but there is a group of grouchy drunks giving you the eye because they dont like newcomers in their bar. You sit for a drink to be polite, and walk back out- never to think of the place again.

...eventually, that group of grouchy old lifers will see the dingy bar they call home fail around them- they will shuffle out in to the night, never to be heard from again... living out their days alone, clinging to the time where they actually were important in their own little pond.

TL;DR.... place is a shithole.

Yeah, I wasn't high on that place either.

Maybe it stopped, but when I was there, their mods were extremely annoying. I get what they were trying to do... promote their site and make it seem better than the competition. But they seemed to be obsessed with trying to prove that they were better than CCS, while reminding everyone that if they step out of line, they'll be banned. The same reason people were getting annoyed with CCS. They also harped on how much better their football discussion was, but I honestly didn't notice much of a difference. Obviously, we have a lot more users, which increases the odds of having shitty posters.... But overall, the content was pretty similar imo. They had some good posters (some from CCS), but I'll just stay here. Like BaBa, I don't feel like "keeping up" with two forums. Plus, I really like the bar and B&I forum here.

Then I saw a thread where I was mentioned, and it seemed like I was believed to be another poster trolling or some shit. After that I just stopped visiting.

Don't forget Despbro, Guapo, Hawk, didshe, dabears70, and tribar.

#thrivingtraffic

It's posters like Hawk that really make this place special. Not every forum has that.

The owner of that site is a good guy. He made it very clear right from the get-go that the Bears forum there is off limits completely to any personal attacks. The bar scene there is wide open. The rules were stated clearly right from the start. There is no organic morphing of rules on the whims of mods.

You know where you stand there. The guy actually reimburses people who have donated but leave or get banned. A different approach there, yes. The software also has some nice features, but change is horrible, I know.

I like having options and choices in life.

Why be a mod if you can't change the rules when you feel like it? You get banned you don't get your money back.
