Decided I'm going to quite dipping tobacco after 2 years. Anybody else want to quit their bad habits with me?

Which method are you trying? The jerky route, or 'cold turkey'?

ND is horrible.
Quit tobacco 15 months ago entirely. I've had one serious relapse lasting 2-3 weeks.

It's damn hard. I've lost 65lbs once and it's far harder than getting off sugar imho.

I wish I could be that one cig a day smoker, but I know I can't, so unless I am in Vegas.....

GL OP.

I am in the process of quitting smoking-I'm months into it. Again. I have tried just about everything. Depending on your personality simple nicotine mints might do the trick. Patches if you are dedicated to using them work, too. If over the counter stuff doesn't work do not hesitate to talk to your Dr. or Dentist. I can tell you from experience that if they give you any bullshit at all or tell you to "just quit" find another health care provider. There are meds out there that can help if you can't quit through cutting back and nicotine replacement systems.

You can also probably find excellent counseling through your local hospital or clinic. Your doctor or dentist should also be able to steer you towards counseling, too. I did counseling and it worked for years. I was stupid and thought I could start, just for a bit, and then quit and it didn't work. I finally saw my doctor and after trying two different meds I think I might have it beat. But only time will tell.

All of the meds I've seen or read about require you to quit drinking too, or at least you can't drink for weeks while taking them. Quitting one or the other is doable, but both at once....

Goodluck BFJ. I'll never understand the appeal of smoking. As far as I can tell the benefits are bad breath and yellow teeth. And we're all aware of the severe consequences.

People that have never smoked dont understand the power of the addiction. Meth and Heroin addicts are able to quit but most still keep smoking Says something about the addiction

I did both. Can't have one without the other. Quit coffee also.

Driving was the one thing that I could not quit, and it made quitting smoking difficult.

My suggestion for anyone quitting is to concentrate on changing rituals. Change your daily routine. If you smoke as soon as you get up, and have a coffee, switch to eating when you get up, drinking tea or water. Change what you eat. Create new after meal rituals, etc.

I found the addiction was easy to get over. It was the habits, rituals, and lifestyle that were difficult to let go.

I was a 3 pack a day smoker and quit with Chantix. Had no plans on really quitting. I ust tried it for the wife and damned if it didn't work. I had tried everything under the sun. And I didn't stop drinking either. Actually in the morning I had a brief period of nausua about 15 min after taking it. Either I barfed or it passed and a euphoria set in and I was good for the day.

Stick with it....you can do it.

Sunflower seeds and maybe some of those coffee pouches and fake dips. I still have tins sitting around the house and I couldn't resist today. Made it 2 days... this is going to be a lot more difficult than anticipated.
