I was actually going to bring this up that I am looking for a reasonable priced replacement for my Bose that are falling apart.
Mainly for gaming and music on the computer. I am not an audiophile so functional and durable mean more to me.
Just reasonable priced decent set. No microphone or any of that nonsense.
Any suggestions?
Sony MDR-7506 Longtime Gold standard in budget to mid range headphones. Will please most people. Until you get into better amps/dacs, you wont get much better without training your ear. They are cheap because the hangs are cheap and the padding is made from low-end foam.
Once you train your ears to hear certain details and sounds, beware, things get expensive and complicated fast if you want to experience broader ranges than common BestBuy stocked headphones. If not expensive, you need to follow trends closely, see what new player is releasing quality to start, before getting a rep and dropping to lower cost parts.
If you want to go off the beaten path, there are so many good cans in all ranges now. In the last few years, companies have been competitive like never before.
Find something that interests you, then see if Zeos has something to say about it on his YT chan. This guy is not a harsh critic, so be warned that he will praise anything if he can find the right reasons to like something. However, he does know his shit, and should help you get a better idea. He will even praise some aspects of Beats and Sennys to avoid heavy fanboy fights in his comments, so yes, you gotta 'read between the lines' a bit and not just hear what you want to hear.

Yes, I have built my own headphones. A few frankies in the rotation, but mostly just buy finished products now. I don't believe I have ever suggested anyone build their own cans, but in all fairness, when I first admitted to building my own, the whole headphone scene was stuck in the 90's a bit. That was... 7 years ago, maybe, I don't remember exactly when. With the 3.5mm headphone in phone debate continuing, a lot of development in the sub-$500 , sub-$200, sub-$100, and sub-$100 have made quality built A-B bin components accessible to the budget range for the first time ever. So this is a really great time for someone in your exact position to step their game up.
