I've watched games...since the beginning of February...he is barely shooting 40% from the field. So I will wait to see him play at a higher level on a consistent basis.
Well would you at least agree that his rebounding and defense have looked a better recently?

The Bulls should be expecting one of those guards who cut to the basket, but the other team won't offer that. It will be a bunch of "stuff" that's not worth it.

That is true. I'm still mad that they passed on Dragic. He had 20+ last night with six or seven assists for the Heat. He'd have been perfect for the Bulls.

Did you guys read the story about the work Noah was doing with youths who have experienced violence in their personal lives? IT was very interesting and also involved several of the other Bulls players and also Deng trying to point the youth in these tough neighborhoods into seeking other recourse than retaliation. Noah mentioned his acitivty or foundation after the Wizard game when they asked him about Nene's cheap shot. IT is nice to see stories like this one different than the usual athletes are assholes stories.

Noah was, and probably still is at the top of my all-time most hated college players. I loathed him at Florida, I hated the pick, I complained about the pick, I didn't want his overemotional crying ass anywhere near the bulls, but now he's the number one player I most want on this team and probably my favorite. He comes do do work, and get shit done. Every game. Rain or shine.

I felt much the same. I thought he was one of those hot college players who would be a complete bust in the NBA. Glad I was wrong, because I knew the Bulls were taking him no matter what. It would have saved them Tyrus Thomas though if Noah came out in 2006 as he was slated in the Top 3 that year.. The Bulls probably grab him at #2. Thus opening that #9 pick to someone else in 2007.

What if Durant spends his next 3 seasons injured? Will people quit giving Rose shit?
No. He'll forever be the worst human being on the planet. With Kirk, the worst player in NBA history as his backcourt mate. :elephant:

Ha! He doesn't have the shot volume for this kind of absurdity--not even in attempt at parody.

The absurdity is your excusing a big man who handles the ball as much as Noah does at times, shooting that low of a percentage. Ignoring his inefficiency, especially from close range...is silly.

What's hilarious about that is, it was the Blazers who passed on a great wing player in 1984 instead taking the big man. Then in the Greg Oden- Kevin Durant draft, they were burnt again. That's gotta hurt. They do seem to be consistently good over the years in spite of these glaring fubars. But that's also probably why they haven't won the big prize since then.

It's funny. The strengths and weaknesses you're talking about are the same as Bill Russell. But Bill Russell is esteemed universally as a top 10 all time player. Even though they're not the same player, it's worth considering at this point whether people over esteem Russell or under esteem Noah. It's just funny how one player is limited to being seen as a "very good but not elite player" while the same limitations for the other player don't prevent people from seeing him as top 10 all time.

I think it's somewhere in between and that "somewhere" is that Russell is over esteemed and Noah is under rated.

You have to blame the Thunder's coach for Durant getting hurt. He played him way too many minutes.

Russell does have a similar skillset and drive to Noah. That's fair. But Noah does not have the same strength and speed, which turns such a comparison into a huge exaggeration. Plus, comparing a pre-ABA, pre-3pt era player to a modern player who has to match up against other players who fit into this modern league is also the wrong way to go about the argument.

Speed in relative terms or apples to apples terms? Because Noah plays in a much more athletic NBA than did Russell (partly because of pre full integration...nevertheless) than did Russell and, in spite of that, mobility is one of Noahs greatest attributes. And sorry but pre modern is lazy terminology. Since 1980 the average player has been a 6'7 black player who is highly athletic. In Russell's era it was a 6'5 player who was far less athletic. And it probably has more to do with integration than evolution.

So you basically made the case for Noah because he is Russell-like, now you make the case against?
