Nothing they can do but run a bunch of tests and take my money. I've been shocked before and have also had broken ribs. I don't have any burns so it was close but didn't hit me. Going to be fun watching the Grandkids this weekend when they want me to hold them.

If you're going to be stubborn about it, I hope you did some self-checks for internal bleeding. Even those aren't 100%, but you have peeps here worried about you, and stuff like that is more peace of mind for you and others that care.

You remind me of one of those stubborn old gomers that get shortness of breath or chest pain and refuses to go to the ER. By the time their family practically drag them in it's too late.

Trouble breathing should not be taken lightly. Even if it's not cardiac related a broken rib can damage the lung (leading to collapse), damage blood vessels, or lacerate organs. Difficulty breathy also happens to be one of the primary symptoms of atelectasis (collapsed lung). Is it getting worse? In the middle of your chest, or on one side? Front or back?

Seriously. Go in and at least get a regular old plain film Chest X-ray. AT WORST they add in a rib series,which amounts to a whole whopping 1-2 more images. General x-ray in this instance is a cheap and effective way of getting information. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

After all, you want to continue hugging your grandkids for a long, long time right?

Thanks guys. When I picked my wife up for lunch she said I looked better. The more I walk around the better I feel. Not seeing the Doc isn't about money it's about being hurt much worse than this many times and 22 surgeries.
