A great QB makes it easier for everyone else and covers up flaws in a way no other position can.

But obviously having a great QB isn't a guarantee of championships, nor does not having a great QB guarantee you'll have a poor team.
C.J. Stroud throwing dimes to a WR group made up of nobodies on a team that was easily the worst roster in the league just a season ago and are now in the 2nd round of the playoffs with a really good QB.

Getting the QB position right does matter. Having a legitimate talent at the QB position makes a really big fucking difference.

Any further questions about the importance of solid QB play need only reference the putrid history of Bears QBs since ummm like the 80s.

Passing on a kid said to have generational talent in favor of more draft picks and a glorified RB playing QB for your team with hopes he might become a good passer in his 4th season is the type of move that sets this organization back another decade or more.

I personally am getting sick of seeing, “But he wouldn’t have been that good on the Bears” year after year with different QBs.

It would be nice to get a QB who other fanbases say that about.

No problem—You are wrong. I was upfront on here by early 2019 that Trubisky wasn’t the guy. You are either making things up or thinking of someone else.
Possibly, you all look the same but on a serious note I don’t have a clue how Fields really is. He does have his obvious flaws but I’ve never seen a team **** up someone’s career like this.

Drafted to a team where both the coach and GM were on the hot seat and the roster was old a bloated, had wins taken away from early by dubious and stupid circumstances (see his Pittsburgh game and the karate kick of doom) coach is fired , forcing him to learn another system oh and btw team is torn down around him, gets a rookie play caller and offensive coordinator who has never called or designed plays in the nfl. Despite all that still flashes talent and yet there are grumblings about replacing him with a midget in Young and now we are here.

I’m not saying Fields isn’t at fault for some stuff but lord this team and organization is terrible and unfortunately he was in the crossfire

Fields seems well liked by other fanbases from some I’ve seen. Falcon fans would take him but that might be an indication of how bad Ridder was

What does that matter as it relates to the future?

The Bears fucked up Fields and did him no favors. That’s true. But that’s irrelevant to whether he should be the QB going forward.

Whether he’s not good enough of his own fault or the fault of the Bears, the result is still the same.

Because imo they’re doing it again. Do you think Flus stays with another failed season? If not he’s fired, whatever QB is here has to learn another system and it repeats itself. If the bears were intelligent they would have fired flus but instead history repeats

The difference between Fields and a top 10 QB in passing yards is about 25 yards a game

Obviously that isn't counting his rushing yards, which puts him in top ten total yards per game already.

Looking at total TDs

Justin scores about 1.6 TDs throwing and running

Top ten QBs are scoring about 1.65 to 1.75 a game with the best QBs at around 2
This is sooooo inaccurate man.

Justin Fields passing yards per game through his career = 197.1

Kirk Cousins = 263.1
Patrick Mahomes = 296.1
Aaron Rodgers = 255.6
Josh Allen = 241.5
Jared Goff = 260.2
Jordan Love = 244.6

Four QBs from the same division average almost 70 yards passing per game through their careers than Fields. Mahomes almost 100 yards per game more and another top QB averages almost 50 yards more through the air.

? What lie
Stroud throwing to nobodies on a roster that was the worst blah blah blah. That whole roster turned over and his weapons are actually good. I’m not discounting Stroud but just saying, this narrative makes it seem like only the QB is needed and is repeated to much

Maybe try talking football without attacking people or making everything personal. You seem like a bully and a jerk. Are you like that in real life?

In any case, whether the Bears are going to screw up Williams as bad as they’ve screwed up Fields is, again, not a reason to stick with Fields. If he’s not the guy, he’s not the guy, no matter who’s “at fault”.

slow down spaz...I took out Fields incomplete game this year and I corrected it by 40...of course this isn't counting Fiel;ds rushing which is better than just about everyone

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears

This.

There are some on here that believe Stefon Diggs is what made Josh Allen the second best QB in the NFL.

As if one player can come in here and make Justin Fields Josh Allen. Ope guess what? It didn't happen.

His leading WR had a career best 481 yards the season before. Tank was a 3rd round pick. Schultz is nothing special. I don’t think Stroud went into the season throwing to a bunch of household names. The Bears certainly had a better top 3 on paper.

You’re looking at just names. That team was designed well

That makes no sense and let’s not pretend like you don’t act an ass from time to time only to cry your way out of trouble. If you keep fucking up a QBs development then you’ll never know who is the guy
