As a UGA homer, I’m not worried at all about Williams. I watch every game. He was battling an injury last year and wasn’t close to 100%. And holy hell, just imagine the possibility of his ceiling when he refines his technique and is at 100%. This is the classic example of not just relying on the stat sheet. Watch his game. His ceiling is incredibly high.

As for Stewart, I don’t know that much about him. Athletically, he does seem to fit what Allen looks for in his DEs.
You nailed it here. I think prospects like Williams, Stewart, and Jackson are exactly the prototype that Allen looks to draft.

I’m pretty sure guys like Green and Pearce won’t be considered.

Walker, Grant and Williams are DTs that I think fit the profile too.

How many guys named Williams can the Bears have on the roster?

The top 30 visits will be telling.

I'm sold on Mykel Williams, I just see the Odeyingbo signing as the reason they wont take him.
True, but Odeyingbo has a lot to prove, as well. Plus I believe the Bears can get out of that contract in 2 years. Never a bad thing to have a steady supply of Dlinemen to constantly rotate in and out in waves.

Ask any knowledgable chiefs fan. Their lack of a LT is why they got creamed in the Super Bowl. I think getting a quality LT would help this team much more than any other position, whether it be RB, DT, DE, etc. I would love a LT. I might even think of taking Simmons and letting him rehab for part of the season if he needs to.

Exactly. DEs get paid top dollar, along with LTs. If they want to take a swing on o eBay 10, I have a feeling Williams will be near the top of their list.

Braxton Jones says hello. The chiefs would love to have an OT of his talent last year

The more I dig into Williams and Shemar and the “top” DEs, the less impressed I am (besides Carter who will be a stud). The lack of production is a real deal breaker for me. These guys should be 2nd or 3rd rounders with production like that.

If we go EDGE, Pearce has some juice in a small trade down. But he’s kinda small For Dennis Allen. Mike Green is a red flag maybe. Fack, who knows here.

Hoping for Membou, or good LT prospect, or Mason Graham.
Grant will be a monster. More so than Graham, imo. He would also be a great pick.

An injured one that didn’t finish the end of the season that has a history of injuries that even when healthy is mediocre at best? That’s the LT the chiefs are begging for?

It makes total sense to get a LT this year. The problem is unless Membou is there at 10, not sure I see a LT prospect worth the first pick. Much rather draft a T in 2nd round. Simmons if he drops or Jackson who can play T/G or Connerly or Ersery.

Trade back a few spots for Kenneth Grant, a true game wrecking NT.

Then hopefully Judkins & Jonah Sav in the 2nd.

Braxton Jones was Meh on the shittiest oline in the nfl. Now he’s the weak link on an otherwise strong oline. I think his short comings are going to be very evident this year. If we pass on Simmons, the chiefs might grab him and laugh at the idea Braxton jones is better than their LT. And a LT is very hard to find in the draft when your picking in the back of the 1st round.

Let me ask you this, what do you think we could get in a trade for Braxton Jones? Maybe draft a LT and trade Jones in the best course of action.
