We've had some movement recently.

Go back to Fall last year and it was:
1. NFL
2. MLB
3. CFL
4. NBA
5. NHL
6. MLS

Now it is:
1. National Football League (67,358)
2. Major League Baseball (30,334)
3. Canadian Football League (27,782)
4. Major League Soccer (17,870)
5. National Hockey League (17,455)
6. National Basketball Association (17,273)

Big changes in the bottom half.

It's all relative to venue capacity.

Comparing the NFL which plays in 70K or more venues 16 times a year compared to say baseball played 162 games in 50K or so venues is certainly comparing apples to oranges. To say that the NBA is the least popular sport in this country would be pretty foolish.

I don't believe I said this was relative to popularity.

HUH? How does the CFL and MLS qualify as "Major League" sports? Last week the MLS game on ESPN drew a 1.8 rating, while the college baseball game on ESPN2 shown at the same time drew a 1.9 rating.

I'm showing attendance figures. Therefore, anything with a higher attendance than a traditional major league counts in these standings.

It's all relative to venue capacity.

For the last 3, the average MLS stadium is about 400 seats more than the average NHL/NBA stadium, and is ahead by over 400 to both, so it is more than that.
