who's hammer? sorry for my ignorance...
Hjalmarsson
That's the guy. Yeah, he was really fearless out there. Are they keeping him?
Absolutely for several more good years as Hjalmarsson probably has the 2nd best contract on the team after Keith's. He only is a 4.1Mil caphit and he only took a 600K raise from his previous contract because he loves being on this team and felt a bit guilty about signing the offersheet he had oh his previous contract after the 2010 Cup he received as a restricted free agent.
If a team gives Kruger a tough offer sheet contract, Kruger might not be able to be kept by the Hawks. But the 1st resigning business after the Final is over is to work on Saads deal quickly, get him signed before any team tries to make a big play on his deal, then try to sign Kruger.
Yet again Kruger shows what solid play and determination to stay his course gets the job done. His screening of Bishop was instrumental in this win and he had a lot of other sweet unsung plays last night.
Definitely. The re-signing of Kruger keeps going under the radar but I really don't want him leaving town after this season. Saad gets all the RFA talk but Kruger has been essential to this team's postseason run.
The way that I see it, I'd say Sharp, The old defenseman(forget his name #44, Bickell, Richards, and maybe even Crawford will be let go or traded. They are going to need to cut a lot of old money and infuse the team with young talent. The future looks bright but they will need to take a few lumps and get a younger roster.
That's far more than needed to be released unless you spend 3.5 on Kruger and resign Oduya/Vermette types. If you just really want to resign Saad/Kruger and let pretty much all the UFAs go away and only fill the team with maybe cheap trade back options and the prospects, it'll work with just 1 of sharp/craw/seabs traded out of the high 5Mil salary guys.
