Guy is incredible. When he's not scoring he's playing defense. But when he gets hot, he's unstoppable.

If you disagree, I'm not sure you're too bright.

Certainly the true hockey fans here agree, right?

Hossa's been a boss lately. I don't know much about hockey, but 3 straight games with 2 goals is impressive.

Gob Gainey won a few as a LW. Though, with defense being at a premium in today's NHL and with how in zone positioning has changed in the past 20 years, your centers have the most responsibilities in the defensive zone so it's understandable why they continue to win it.

Yep. Hard to give it to a winger when most good centers are playing a 200 ft. game.

In my opinion the toughest skater positions in the NHL are:
1) Centers
2)Defensemen
3) Wingers

Wingers in most D zone systems just need to be in a specific area, while centers need to cover a ton of area and read and react to the opposition and their teammates. That's why so many teams that draft players that play center typically start them at wing in the NHL until their up to speed.

Don't disagree, but it feels like any wingers are automatically excluded from Selke discussion, and that doesn't seem right to me.

Which is why I'm shocked that Hossa hasn't won it before--his game in all 3zones is collectively better than most centers out there--including Toews.
