Going to be 13 years for us in November.
I couldn't imagine my life with anyone else. I really feel God worked this out for both of us to be with each other. We are more in love now than when we were dating. It's not even close. Those butterflies are mostly gone, but that's only put us to real love and has been completely worth it. I'd say in the near 13 years only once during a heated fellowship time (what you non-believers call arguing) did I ever wish we weren't together. And I was dead wrong for that feeling.

Infidelity? HA! If you are equally yoked it's a non-issue.

But like Ares said, you marry for the right reasons, not because of a situation.

You SHOULD marry for the right reasons.... too many people marry for the wrong reasons unfortunately.

This is probably one of the huge reasons that so many marriages fail

And I think it often happens because people feel they MUST be married by a certain age, because they MUST have kids by a certain age.... either they set those milestones or their family does or some combination of factors.

Ima start a Lone Wolf motivational speaker thing... teach people about living as an independent adult.... there is no requirement to be committed to another person by age 25 lol

Yeah it gets ridiculous... I mean if you are in your early 20s and you are with the person you wanna spend your life with, I aint gonna tell you to not get married and/or have kids.... but if you are single and just panicking looking to tie someone down and get married.... you doing it rong

Her wants was to always meet a guy in college and then marry him right after college (typical)... she had a guy but they ended their relationship badly her senior year.. she went onto online dating and matched up with my friend and they started dating just after she graduated.. They moved in together after like 3 months...and were engaged after 7 months.. luckily they waited like 19 months until they got married, but its not like there was any question really. She moves absolutely fast on everything, so I would not be surprised if she's pregnant within the next 6 months. He got suckered into it, but overall seems generally happy, so more power to him I guess. Maybe it'll work out, I just.. won't shock me either way really.

He was my college friend, who I saw maybe once every so often to begin with outside of school. We ended up working at the same place, but still only hung out outside of work every so often. Once he moved in with her, they lived quite far so I never saw him, especially after he left the company. Still don't see him much, but its not as bad as another one of my friends who did completely disappear upon getting a girlfriend.

Tying the knot in November and can't wait...I lucked out and found a great girl who has a good head on her shoulders and is the best person I know. My suggestion is steer clear from Puerto Ricans, I hear they are batshit crazy.

Yeah, I feel ya. Reading Revolutionary Road at 18 and seeing all the effused up shit I have in marriages kinda warped my mind a bit. I don't sleep around, I just never wanted a super serious commitment. It frightened me to end up being like the miserable older fellas at the club, or while I'm working my ass off my wife is blowing a personal trainer in parking lot.

Shit happens more than some of you realize.
