Patricia can get away with fielding a bad defense because beard and backwards hat. NFL fans are easily fooled.

We needed an Offensive Head coach, but MP, looks the part and get results as a Defensive coordinator.

We will get to see him twice a year, so I guess we will know soon enough.

His OC is as important as our DC selection was.

I think the ole Cooter is still under contract. But would MP want him?

You would think they would just go with their own DC. Odd.

Not every franchise is as willing to give a young man the head coaching gig even with the effusive praise of their former head coach. I find it to be a mistake by the Cardinals and I hope Bettcher leaves them for it.

Caldwell did a lot better than anyone expected with that shiftty franchise. I don't really see this HC change doing anything to improve the Lions.

I'll still wait and see how the hire works out in a few years before saying the Lions made a good hire. The Belichik tree hasn't produced winning HC material so far with the exception of O'Brien.

They always seem to be missing something......possibly Belichik?

Stafford has gone on record saying he wants Cooter as OC. And I don't think any NE coach would work in Detroit. Stafford is the anti-Brady...

Great hire, too bad it's to a team in our division.

Meh, outside chance he isn't as full of himself or inflexible as other Patriots coaches but until I see it I won't expect anything but failure from that coaching tree.

In before Nogento shows and proclaims MP the GOAT, and doesn't squander another chance to throw shade on the Bears new hires.

nogento? LOL, actually I have been on record as saying I have no clue who would be the best hire between Shurmer, Vrabel, or McDaniels.

is he keeping JBC and the offensive staff or bringing in his own guys?

Rumors were both McDaniels and Shurmer wanted to retain Cooter. If that capacity is OC I don't know. Cooter's issue is he doesn't have a clue how to manufacture a run game, if they keep him hopefully he learns.

No one knows what Matt Patricia is other than the next guy who has coached under Bellichick

So the Lions are keeping the ole cooter hanging?

Word is that he is keeping Cooter to run the offense, but will have new O-line Coach, and a run game Coordinator....As far as Defense, I would love to see Schwartz or Vrabel as DC...

He also needs the beard to take attention away from his baby voice. He sounds like he hasn’t hit puberty yet.

With glasses he could be Trestmans brother. I'd grow a beard too (a big bushy one)if I had that face.
