Hasn't Trump said he wants to own an NFL team?
Wondered that too. I thought he tried to buy the Bills at one point. Somehow I don't think Trump would get that great of a reception in Chicago.

Let's get an actual Bears fan to buy the Bears....does Vince Vaughan have enough money?

+ Bill Murray
+ Eddie Vedder
+ Dwayne Wade
+ Oprah ?? ?

(not Kayne though - hard pass)

As much as I don't want the shit show Jeff Bezos, this would be lifetime supply of popcorn-worthy.

If the Bears were doomed to suck for the rest of my lifetime, at least this way I'd be entertained...

That's what makes it perfect.

The meltdowns post game from fans and the media would be on a scale not yet witnessed. It would be glorious.

And if my football team is going to suck, something damn well better entertain me.

Every time fans start talking about changing the owner they have to remember 2 things:

1 - You have no control over that process, so maybe focus your energy on areas you can impact?

2 - There's no guarantee the future ownership will be better - Many teams have shown new owners doesn't mean they are better. If anything often, as a fan it adds the risk of a potential move where the new owners who have little commitment to the local market might choose to move the franchise (think of the Rams in LA).

I'm actually less concerned about changing the owner than I am about getting rid of Ted Phillips.

This is a fair point, but you used a bad example. While Kroenke Sports & Entertainment own the Rams, they also own more sports franchises in Denver, plus Arsenal in England. So you don't necessarily need to live in that area to own a team. Hell, the Cubs are owned by a family from Omaha.

Beyond that, it's a lot easier to move a team from St. Louis to Los Angeles, than Chicago to....San Antonio??

Nobody in their right mind would move an NFL team out of a market this large where there is no other NFL team.

Bezos would be a far better owner than the McCaskeys. I think he'd actually want to win.
I’m pretty sure the McCaskeys want to win. They just suck at doing their jobs. And Bezos has so much going on with his life. How would focus and attention would he give to a football team?

We don't need his focus/attention. We need his money.
Anyone who buys a football team is going to have money. I don’t think that’s a problem for any billionaire. I would rather have a guy who would have more focus on the Bears than Amazon and all of his other projects.
