What amuses me most of all is that Tony Campana finally got to play for like the first time in a month and he only got in a third of an inning before the game was rained out

Theo is going to have to trade some pitchers for us to get back into the race for the first overall pick. We are 4 games back now with three teams ahead of us.

I was at the game last night. I decided to upgrade the seats that I had and found 2 seats in section 109 (even with home plate in the Cubs bullpen) for $45 on StubHub, 2 hours before game time.

I was wearing my black, Blackhawks baseball style jersey (button down with the Indian Head on each shoulder) and I have this girl sitting next to me for the first 4 innings. She kept looking over at me as if she knew me or something? Out of nowhere, she changes seat with her boyfriend. I was thinking, "do I smell?" Did she notice that I was checking her out or something? Wtf?!?! I was there with my son, so it's not like I was being obnoxious (not that I am anyways). So, after her boyfriend sits next to me, I turn to my son and tell him that I think the guy next to me is Bryan Bickell from the Blackhawks. 7th inning comes, major storms are heading our way so I tell my kid that we are leaving after the 7th (as I look at the Weather.com app on my phone). The guy next to me says "holy shit" look at those storms (on my phone). We start talking a little.

As my son and I are getting ready to leave, I say to the guy next to me
ME: "hey, anyone ever tell you that you look like Bryan Bickell?"
HIM: "they do"
ME: "Are you"
HIM: "I am"
ME: (handshake) " Good Luck this year and CRASH THE NET!!" (lol)
HIM: (LOL) Thanks!

I'm not the type that gets star struck and I knew it was him but wanted to respect his privacy and not be one of "those fans", but, yeah, I was sitting next to Bickell the entire night!

Oh yeah, and Will Ferrell and Zach Galafinakis threw out the first pitch. They also read off the starting lineup for the Cubs and it went something like this;

Here is the video of it >

Ferrell: Batting 1st for the Cubs, David DeJesus (he pronounced it as David DeJeezus)
Zach: Batting 2nd, Starlin Castro
Ferrell: Batting 3rd and ironically he's NOT Italian, Anthony Rizzo
Zach: Batting 4th, straight from SCOTLAND, Alfonsoooooo Sorianooooooo
Ferrell: Batting 5th, he loves playing banjo and doing tricks with his dog "chachi", Bryan LaHair
Zach: batting 6th, in his spare time, he's an accountant at a styrofoam cooler company, Geovany Soto
Ferrell: batting 7th, he likes taking long walks on the beach, completely naked, Darwin Barney
Zach: batting 8th, he likes to walk on the beach with Darwin, Luis Valbuena
Ferrell: pitching, he leads the league with 450 strikeouts, Jeff Samardzzzzzabada

Dude is pretty locked in right now, and throughout his career he has crushed lefties. I suspect that he will find a new home in a couple of weeks for something small.

He should be a pinch hitter and nothing more IMO

His career numbers suggest he could be a useful player in a platoon situation.

Maybe on a team not like the cubs who are rebuilding but thats just my opinion...im not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to baseball

You are right that Jeff Baker doesn't have a spot in the future of the Cubs, but it isn't like he is taking playing time away from a legitimate prospect either. If a team offers something small but useful he will get moved. If not then he will play the string out this year.

It was nice of Soriano and Soto to make Buehrle work a bit after all those other quick outs.

Too bad about the double play though.
