Jordan was what Brady is to the Patriots. As great as Walter Payton was, did he deliver Super Bowls to the Bears? He helped them get that one, but when people talk about that ‘85 team do they talk about Payton or do they talk about that defense?

Jordan was America's first truly global superstar in sports. Kids in Africa and China had his jersey like the top soccer players. Everyone knew who Michel Jordan was. To this day the only one to equal him is Tiger Woods. Outside of the U.S., hardly anyone knows who Walter Payton is.

Walter Payton might have been one of the nicest sports athletes ever. Jordan is a good dude, but he is no Walter on so many levels. More famous though obviously as basketball is more of a global sport than american football.

Media coverage of football in the 70s and 80s was also very different than the following decades. And football players wear helmets. But 6 championships ...

Jordan until he came back to play for the wizards. Now I feel like he is a traitor. What if payton had made a comeback to play for the redskins.
