China is still a repressive country but income and standard of living goes up every year. That will revert if production lessens.

Talent aside, the bears have been pretty consistent when it comes to avoiding/quickly cutting shitheads loose, from Alonzo Spellman to Bam Morris to Tank Johnson to Sam Hurd to Ray McDonald to Carter in my lifetime. I’m sure I’m missing a few more.
Long story short, reasonable bears fans knew he wasn’t going to be an option.
I also don’t understand the Terrell Suggs comparison. Suggs went top-10 in the draft and was the top DE taken in 2003, don’t exactly recall him slipping to 59 and being the 9th edge rusher/DE off the board.

IIRC, the Bears picked prior to Suggs being taken and I believe Angelo was the GM at the time and said he passed on Suggs because he didn't fit the Bears system. That really was a huge **** up by the Bears.

Maybe the US population should stop voting greedy morons into power that only care about lining their own pockets while stealing from future generations. (For the last 50+ years) Then again, the gen-pop is so pathetic that they would prefer lip service representation over actual change. (History implies it won't change until it collapses)
This country is in so deep that when people like the guy in charge now tries to reverse or buck any of that trend (right or wrong) or bring any industry back to the states its portrayed as evil because it affects society's pocketbooks in the short term. Meanwhile, current policies are just hurting peoples pockets in the long term, so it's harder to quantify and therefore see.

The fuckup was trading down from 4 to 13, only getting an additional 4th rounder in compensation, trading down to 14, getting an 6th, and taking Michael Haynes.
Angelo was a dumbass.

Yea they got two first rounders.
They always needed a QB in that draft. If they sticked at #4 they would have likely taken byron leftwich.
Also daniel likes comparing every DE to terrell suggs. Even the great shane ray was the next terrell suggs, until he wasnt. Now daniel wont comment on that comparison.

After that one guy went to prison the owners put down this rule, no players with any legal risks, period. That is the only restraint on the GM. He can spend all he wants draft or trade who he wants but can’t pick a legal risk. Just understand this and you won’t waste energy on a player like this .
