Let me correct myself, Ewing had some ability in the post with his back to the basket. To say he had no post game is wrong, Luc Longley had SOME ability in the post.

But the McHales, Hakeems, and Duncans of the NBA world would be better options to learn that aspect of basketball from because their post games were much more refined. That is why Howard went to Nigeria to see Hakeem, his abilities in the post were in another stratosphere.

Did you seriously just compare Ewing's post game to Longley's?

Wow. I'm almost speechless. Granted Ewing was not the greatest in the post but c'mon, Longley was nothing but a tree truck who was there to set screens & rebound. He really had no ability in the post other than being big. And I'm not just talking post moves in general for Howard, I'm talking overall better offensive game. Howard has improved, a little, with his hook. However, it's nowhere near consistent. He still relies way too much on his strength & athleticism to plow through people. And honestly, if he just focused an entire summer on improving his FT shooting & got it up to around 70%, he would lead the league in scoring & rebounding. Though I also think SVG needs to go. His game plan is outside-in which is not the way you want to play when you have a beast like Howard on your team. 12spg is laughable for a player of Howard's talent.

Longley had a post game, that was my point, that to say Ewing had NO post game is erroneous. Not once did I saw Ewings post game is like Longley's post game. My point was Ewing isn't like Olajuwon or Robinson, who depended on their post games as Howard should being that he is so strong and athletic.

Howard's post moves have improved a lot, his jumper has improved, his balance in the paint has improved, all from working for one summer with Hakeem. Its very noticeable, that is why he is getting MVP consideration. He is not just a bull in a china shop. He is a much improved player offensively...
