Really hoping the best for Mitch. He's always played hard in Chicago and Nagy didn't do much to help him. Even no showed a meeting with him. He had notes to improve the offense but Nagy didn't give a fuck. Fuck Nagy. Go Mitch, I'll be rooting for you whenever you end up.

Edited to add: Mitch took the time to talk to my nephew for a few minutes at camp and even signed my Bears 100 year anniversary book when it was a monsoon outside. Stand up guy.

I like him as a person, but it would be difficult to evaluate his play in Buffalo until he actually plays in Buffalo.

And as long as Allen is healthy, Mitch's confident place is holding a clipboard.

He won't be playing in Buffalo.

look on the bright side, Dick. you're no longer the 3rd worst head coach the Bears have had the last 30 years.
I'd like to think I'm in the top 5.

1. Halas
2. Ditka
3. Lovie
4. Eberflus
5. Me.

Lovie is above Ditka. All Ditka could do is yell and alienate his coaches and players
Agreed. And sell Chunky Soup.

Walter Payton, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Mike Singletary, and Jimbo Covert are all in the HoF. Fencik, McMahaon, McMichael, Wilson, Marshall, we can go on and on... A decent coach would have been to more Super Bowls and won more. Ditka could only manage one victory.

Ditka was a great character and player but not a great coach.

Ditka's team actually won the Super Bowl. not have it marginally in control until the 4th quarter and piss it away letting the inferior quarterback on the depth chart that demonstrated just 2 weeks prior he couldn't play in "bad weather" throw the ball aimlessly at shit and hit only the other team. what kind of fucking Matt Nagy-esque strategy is your team employing when you're playing against a team that only just recently in the playoffs gave up like 250 yards rushing in a game, your run game is working, and you just decide "oh hey, that works, let's get rid of it"

confirmed: Lovie Smith was the prototype of Matt Nagy. 2 coaches that made the playoffs and did absolutely fuck all with it. Lovie Smith may actually be worse. he had a chance at the kill shot to eliminate the Packers in 2010, let them in, let them win the Halas trophy at Soldier Field, and let them win the fucking Super Bowl so that us, the assholes of CCS, have a narrative to discuss about Aaron Rodgers and his solo Super Bowl win. he could've fucking had none if the genius did his job correctly. Ditka only didn't win cause the team's chosen one at quarterback was headbutting his players and giving himself brain damage and because rules in the 80s permitted, he got his shoulder shredded by some other Packer asshole.

if there were logical reasoning for saying "fuck this team", I think I summed it all up. thanks.

you were the number 1 clapping coach of all time, I tried clapping while coaching a youth game a few times and it seemed to have zero effect
Thank you for the kind words!

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears

One of the knocks on Lovie was that he was not aggressive enough. The Packers got in because of ONE play. This one.
Lovie ironically was very aggressive. The coverage he called was the "KILLSHOT". Pre-snap we show a Cover 3 look. Seconds before the snap James Anderson gets the call to Frey. Frey comes up the line of scrimmage. Wright gets the call to Jennings and you see a shift in coverage away from Cover 3 to Cover 0. He sent 7 and dropped 4. Cover 0 and an all out blitz. You don't get more aggressive than that. Lovie wanted to end the game right there. I love the call. It was the right call. Conte mistook the coverage. If Conte covers his man this game is over. The Bears make the playoffs and Rodgers never gets his ring. Lovie may have been to blame for other losses. This is not one of them.

Lovie was a defensive guru. He actually held up that side of the ball. Nagy could never do the same. Once Fangio was gone he was exposed. The 2 are not comparable.

This and the Reggie Wayne TD are probably the most memorable TDs against the Bears D during Lovie's tenure. One was Cover 2 and the other was not. In both instances the coverage was right. The Wayne TD happened because once again a safety (Manning) made a mistake. He bit on a backup TE running up the seam. He let Wayne walk into the end zone instead of covering his deep half like he was supposed to (Cover 2) but everyone wanted to blame Lovie for that as well.

you're totally right. I was just going with that angle for comic effect. LOL

I just heard him say in postgames "I failed to have my team prepared" too many times. he was an offensive dead-end, beyond that he was very good.

I just hope I make next year's CSS Hall of Fame. Then my career is complete.

listen, Dick. these nerds are saying I'm not eligible unless I have 10,000 posts. so we're just going to keep the momentum going here.

I should just go down the line and say "poop" in every thread and do that 100 times a day. then we'll see what the fuck is up.

Trubisky will get another shot to start at some point and he will show he is an average to above average starter in the NFL not someone who can carry a team but you can win with the guy

Wow! 10k posts? That'll take me years! I'm a fairly quiet guy. I just prefer to stand by and clap.
