they stayed with the same age but they lost their mind mostly, money and the bussiness first, the soul of basketball is hidden now, money is ruling
mj still has the same love to basketball, today's players mostly don't have it

People were saying the same thing about players 15 years ago. Players want to win now just as much as they did in the past...you don't think Kobe Bryant loves basketball? You don't think MJ loves money? You can't love both?

Michael Jordan wouldn´t have any chance to play sucessfully in the NBA today with the age of 50!

For those of you who didn´t notice: The game changed! It became much much faster.

Look who´s dominating the league right now: It´s the guards! Rose, Ellis, Westbrook, Curry, Rondo, Wade, just to name a few of them. MJ has been a superiour athlete in his prime, nowadays every guard is an athletic monster.

The game is just too fast for a 50 year old man.

Iverson would have way better chances to compete in the NBA right now than Jordan has.

business ruled then! There is no difference...it was always a business. The players today love the game no less than they did 15, 20 years ago...there's no difference.

The **** are you even talking about? Just look at Jordan, the man made $30 million FOR ONE SEASON (1996-97). Then he made $33 million the next season.

He made those numbers his last 3 seasons with the Bulls, before then he made 4 Million and that was after taking a pay cut so the Bulls could sign Scottie to a bad front-loaded contract.

Eternityw needs to take inflation into account here. Obviously, players are making a hell of a lot more than back in the 90's, but the value of the dollar has fallen a LOT since then...

As pointed out...Jordan made over 60mil in 2 years and even then he insinuated that he should get more...suggesting that the league could have kicked in and pay some money. Jordan loved the game, but he knew his worth...so do the players today...what's wrong with that?

How many hours did Dirk work to perfect his game? Dwight going to Africa...Kobe too...these players are max players right now...if they don't love the game, they wouldn't bother to improve...

So Scottie Pippen wasn't selfish at times concerning his contract? Horace Grant? C'mon!

most players can barely play at 40....i doubt jordan would be a significant contributor at 50.....your body just breaks down at that point...

Jordan's body wouldn't hold up. He probably will have his flashes but nothing major. When he was with the Wizards he had to get his knee drained alot at 38. I can imagine what ailment he would have at 50.

Even if he did play 12 minutes a game, he still probably has a killer fadeaway. He definitely wouldn't have any business trying to take people off the dribble, but he is a smart player and would know how to get some points even at his old age. That said, he's freaking 50 years old! Let's get real here...expecting him to be a contributor at 50 while his knees are shot is unrealistic, even for one as insanely competitive as Jordan.

Still pretty sick that the guy can dunk at that age. Sure he is still pretty tall and that helps but as you get older your body wears down.

Actually technology is better as far as keeping players in shape and trainers have beeter advanced techniques in healing..I do belive with proper diet and workouts jordan could get back in respectable shape to provide a decent service for a contender...The mind has more control over the body as far as sheer will.....Jordan still has the same brain and competitive nature that seperates him from the normal guy..half of a jordan would still be better than a lot of players.
