There are many different ways and rules. It is very league specific. For instance, one league I participate in is a salary cap league with numerous positions and you have to keep between 5-10 players every year. Some league you have to keep every player you have and you can have benches and "farm systems" of up to 10 or 15 players so you find yourself really dealing with what GMs are possibly having to go through. For instance, I would draft Trout as a long term stud. Sure, he is having a great year right now, but he is going to have some ups and downs, especially since he is like only 20 years old. The kid will hit the wall at some time. However, in three years, this kid projects to be a league MVP caliber stud for years to come as long as he is healthy. Would you prefer to draft a Votto at 30 years old to build your team around, or perhaps a 20 year old possible stud. There are many different ways of going about re-drafts, I like to play the dynasty didn't realize going into this draft (because I am lame - :shot

that we were drafting for "one" season alone. Especially since I saw Matt Kemp drafted first and his is now on DL for the 2ND time this season already with hamstring issues and wont be back until July. If you don't think that is big, go take a look at Nelson Cruz's numbers since he went through a bunch of hammy issues. I wouldn't select Kemp for this years numbers and would be worried of a possible chronic hammy issue in the future.
If I were drafting specifically for this year, and not thinking about the future at all, I guess I would have to choose either Hamilton or Braun actually. Both of those guys are just studs man.
