Sweet! I used to have a 72' and a 73' Cutlass. Wrecked the 72' racing at Sycamore speedway many moons ago.
Rocket 350's! Gotta love 'em.

Usually Volo cars are overpriced, but not that one. The 70' 350 rocket is unlike any other, a beefier cam, heavier castings, better flowing heads etc. put the HP rating only 20 HP stock shy of the monster 455 motor. All the 350's were solid from 68 until 76', when sadly they had to add emissions and be more concerned with fuel efficiency after the gas crises.

The 68'-75' can be had for $10-$12K, only I'dd have to add a new suspension cuz' they handle like shit.:)

Sorry to hear about the recall. Have a 94 truck with tranny issues. Pissed me off. I love the classics. Remember them being so cheap in auto trader. Wished I bought them all. Lol. Hindsight is 20/20. The price can get crazy too if numbers matching. My cousin Connie has a 69 427 Yenko worth a couple houses. You see a lot here in AZ where the winter doesn't kill them.

That's the downside of pre-owned, but I can easily sue them in small claims for $10K...$2,500 more than it's worth.:smug2:

Sounds like you know what's up. I've got a soft spot for the wagons.

Congrats on the recent purchase. I completely understand the exhaust thing.

I like the wagon too. Hard to find and manual is very hard to find. I like the four doors for ease of business Lunch and family. The coupe is cool but would not meet my needs. The 16 isn't offering a wagon or manual but time will tell. You said you had a couple LS cars... I think it's a great motor. The LS4 is the new guy which looks pretty good too. Crazy how strong tech is making combustion engines. Great time if your a car guy. Like muscle era two.

I've heard the threat alone will make them work with you. I don't know from Personal experience. Wish you the best. You put a lot into getting a vehicle and its bullshit to get shafted by some D Bag.

The LS4 is actually the LS motor for the FWD platform (Impala SS, Grand Prix, Monte)...I put one in a Pontiac Fiero for a friend a few years ago.

The LT motors are the new ones in the base vettes and new Camaro and are pretty sweet. I wish I would have waited and got a crate LT1 instead of the LS3 I have in a Factory 5 GTM.

Car Ive been tinkering with at home.

That would be one nasty little Fiero. The craziest thing I ever did was put a 427 BB funny car engine in a 74 4 speed El Camino. Fucking insane.

Nice looking car for the age. You can tell it gets TLC. I knew an insane Go Cart race guy named Austn. He put a Polaris 440 snowmobile engine on a cart. Might be the fastest thing I've ever seen. He's no longer with us

I think he means tuned on a dyno to increase fuel air mix and spark for increased HP. All computer controlled now. The days of doing timing in you garage are over. Shame, that was fun stuff tinkering with your engine. Can't hardly find the motor under all the crap now. They do perform though.

I just had a 1994 Ford F150 4x4 tuned because it was running rough and the bill came out to 580.00

This. I buy ~5 year old Toyota with cash when I get a new car. I live in AZ, so they are in mint condition with zero rust. Pay near zero in maintenance beyond shit like oil changes and brakes, which I do myself.

I could buy 8 cars with 47k. More than I would need for the rest of my life. I spend the money I save traveling the world. Headed to Vietnam this summer. Went to Bali last summer. Its very therapeutic.
That's what my woman and I do. She just paid cash for fully loaded 08 Armada with 60k miles which was a 55k car new for 18k in Atlanta. It was a 3 hour drive but well worth it. My next car will be in the 9k-12k and I'll pay cash for it. Dave Ramsey's total money makeover is great reading/listening if you haven't already. It helped me navigate through a $28k paycut that lasted a year.

As far as having a fun vehicle I'll always have the Supra. I'm shooting for 1xxx horsepower so I'm sure that will always thrill me.

I remember those cars. Not that many made. Nice car to have. 1000 HP in a car that size would be insane. Rocket ship.

That size? I'd weighed more than a Corvette. It was about the length of a Viper. I'd was the size of an average sports car back then.

I get that at times though I don't understand why. I wish my car weighed 2900 pounds and was smaller but it just isn't.

Welcome to 1822
I've had $600 car payments twice in my life. Never will I again. I'd rather have a house paid off in ten years and money in the bank, and money to go on vacation. We've been to Gatlinburg and the gulf shores on our dime, no credit cards. And we were able to get to Hawaii and Orlando because of my job. If doing all that is living in 1822 I'm all for it.

My mistake. Didn't know the weight, they have a lighter appearance which is a compliment to the design. Always liked the Supras.

We bought my wife's Tahoe in 2004 and it still runs great. I think it's time to get her a new one and I will drive the 04 until the wheels fall off.

I like buying new but only when they offer 0% financing. The sad thing is if you want a Tahoe with a front bench then you must buy the low end with cloth seats and they are very uncomfortable. I will end up having the seats redone on a brand new fucking car because she really wants a front bench.... and I like giving her what she wants.
