Coaching

Head Coach: Matt Nagy

Bears seem to have a trend going on this time around in the coaching search and that is finding an offensive mind that can take Trubisky to the next level and who better than to hire a former QB in himself and rising star from a top coaching tree.

Offensive Coordinator: Darryl Drake

Darryl Drake was an assistant coach for the Chicago Bears from 2004-2012 until the Marc Trestman era he was most recently working with Bruce Arians until Bruce retired. I assume Matt Nagy will be calling the plays and Drake will be more a an assistant head coach to Nagy.

Defensive Coordinator: Mike Pettine

It's rumored these two come in a package together and if true makes it all the more sweeter. Pettine will bring an aggressive defense the Bears haven't seen in a long time.

Bears sign WR Albert Wilson to 4 years 14.5 million/7 guaranteed

Wilson would be smart to take a look at Chicago if he wants to increase his playing time.

gettyimages-5012355022.jpg

Bears sign OLB Jeremiah Attaochu 2 years 12 million/5 guaranteed

Since Chargers brought in Gus Bradley and changed to a 4-3 defense he just doesn't fit in. He's 24 years old and had 6 sacks in 2015 as a pass rusher.

Bears sign TE Troy Niklas to 3 years 18 million/6 guaranteed

Replacing Dion Sims for what Dion Sims should be doing in this offense.

usatsi_8174220.jpg

Bears sign OT Nate Solder to 3 years 21 million/7.5 guaranteed

Bears need an upgrade at tackle but at least in the short term we can build some competition and depth.

usatsi_8274614.jpg

Bears sign ILB NaVorro Bowman to 3 years 12 million/6 guaranteed

Jerrell Freeman will be gone next season and 29 year old Bowman takes his place. He can offer a lot of wisdom down to younger players.

Bears sign QB Tyler Bray to 1 year 950k

He knows Matt Nagy's offense and can help the process along by helping Trubisky.

Bears sign K Sebastian Janikowski to 2 year 4 million

Giorgio Tavecchio is taking Janikowski spot while he is on IR for a back injury and it looks like his time with the Raiders is over.

Draft

Round One - Pick 8: Arden Key OLB

Bradley Chubb & Clelin Ferrell stock are rising but Arden Key shouldn't be overlooked. Key is one of the elite talents of this draft class but off field concerns will play a factor with Key team interview will be important.

Round Two: Parris Campbell WR

Campbell has shown that he is an explosive play maker this season but Ohio State has struggled to pass the ball this season.

Round Four: Brandon Parker OT

Hailing from North Carolina A&T where we drafted Tarik Cohen. Parker has impressed scouts this year.

can't wait for the barrage of wish lists from ordinary people on what they want a professional football franchise to do from the comfort of their mothers basements.

more of you should be standing up and saying you don't give a fuck, but you all participate in it too.

Its better than your last couple....but still pretty "meh."

I see no point in bringing Darryl Drake back to do nothing on the sidelines. I doubt he'd want to come back for that. What does he bring to the table that moves along Mitch's progression as a young QB?

I still don't get your fetish of cutting Willie Young. He's a bargain, he produces, and he's not worth a top 4 spot in the rotation? Based on what? And the guys you replace him with?

Though I haven't seen them much this year, I'm pretty sure the Chargers still run a base 3-4. Melvin Ingram isn't playing DE in a 4-3 defense at 260 lbs. But Jeremiah Attachou, the guy who had an okay 2015, and has either been hurt of bad since gets more per year and that's supposed to be an upgrade? And you're keeping Bummar Houston for more money than what Young is making? Fail. That doesn't make the edge position better. Pay a guy who had average stats in 2015 and Bummar who's gotten sacks in "garbage time" of season where everybody's hurt but he isn't because he cant see the field because he's bad? You cant see a bumslayer when its in front of your face. And you want to pay this bumslayer more than what Willie Young makes, already under contract with this team?

Jaleel Scott going that low means he has no speed or is unable to show it. Trubisky needs play-makers to help his improvement, not jump-ball artists that cant shed basic DB coverages.

Arden Key I stay away from with a 20 foot pole, dude played like crap this year, and unexpectedly put on 40 lbs to go from 230 to 270. It affected his one breakout game against Auburn, but nonetheless, no production otherwise. There are better options at edge. Give me someone who gets after the quarterback, not some lanky edge that put up a robust 4 sacks and 5 TFL in 2017 after 11 sacks and 13 TFL in 2016. Too many red flags and better options available to gamble a top 10 pick on a player that's regressed. When Matt Barkley stayed later than he should have, he went from a late 1st QB to a 4th rounder. I'm not seeing that big of a drop, but this dude isn't a top 10 pick.

Parris Campbell in the 2nd is a reach. Most mock draft artists these days think he's a 5th rounder.

Maybe we can hire Janikowski as ST coach. I hear he's available.

Remember folks. Quality > quantity.

I always like when people do these, because they’re fun. So thanks for that, sincerely.

Don’t think they’ll release Christian Jones, Marcus Cooper or Tom Compton. I could be wrong.

I would run to the podium for Arden Key at 8. 12 sacks his sophomore year. All American. Beast of a dude. A biittt of a step back this year, but still 4 sacks in 8 games with the defenses likely “Key”ing in on him (heh). He’d likely be BPA if he’s still there at #8.

Would love to see the Bears be aggressive this free agency with WR. The pessimistic Bears fan in me thinks they won’t, but I suppose this offseason will tell us A LOT about Ryan Pace.

So we're dumping Sanchez, then re-signing him, then not rostering him on the 53?

Weird...

If the Bears bring in an offensive minded HC to help groom Mitch, they aren't going to spend their 1st rounder on a defender. It will be OL or potentially a trade down where the Bears can grab a WR later in the 1st.
