Well there's one thing I know, and that's Ellis is not a bum. He can flat out score. Granted it might not be as efficient as one would like (I attribute that to poor shot selection and the GS system), but this guy can average 25+ a game and can do pretty much everything Rose can. I'm not sure how he does in the clutch, but I know he hits 3s with fairly regular consistency. 33% is what Rose shoots so we'd hope at least one of them improves or that with each other the number of 3s overall would go down and they'd just be taking more high percentage 3s, but I honestly don't know how Thibs would go about that. My issue with this is more defensively than offensively.

Just like signing Monta. It puts us in the same boat.

If you trade Deng for Monta, yes the Bulls are in the same boat. If the Warriors are stupid enough to take Brewer/Korver, go for it. If not, don't bite.

Couldn't we get this deal done with the 2 firsts and Kover/Brewer? I REALLY don't want to part with Deng.

no way in hell they would do that. The perfect fit for GS to play with the matador David Lee would be a C like Noah. Your 1st rd picks this year hold little value in a weak draft and they are pretty much 2nd round picks anyway.

I can name 29 other teams who could and would give better offers than that.

You may be able to get away with Korver and someone from the frontcourt...but people who are talking about Korver and Brewer....why is that even a conversation?

I dunno about this Ellis rumored trade talk. Let's just see what Forman & Paxson come up with. Anything crazy can & could most definitely happen this offseason. Whether we see them pull a ridiculous deal out their asses or even make a steal like that Ellis situation. I'm game. Just get these weak spots of the team figured out early.

Here comes another rollercoaster ride of a summer all over again....but worse, cause now expectations are higher after having such a turnaround season.

Last summer was wild on here due to the FA signings. This one will most likely be the same with the questions that need answered on this team plus the impending lockout.

IF they were to pull the trigger on Ellis for Deng, who could we get to replace him in the draft or FA? We would actually be saving a few million in the trade.

I think that if a deal goes down for Monta, it would be the likes of Brewer, Korver, Gibson, both firsts this year and possibly the Charlotte pick going to GSW, then Ellis and maybe a cash, and a 2nd round pick this year. I doubt this gets done, but if it does, then Butler immediately becomes the 6th man and the Bulls take a hit in depth...might be worth it to have another dynamic scorer though. I don't know if a 3rd team would have to get involved to make the cap work out because I think that Ellis is making something like $16 million a year...

I would prefer trading for Eric Gordon, rather than for Monta Ellis.

And why would haven't another Derrick Rose...which is what you are saying, a bad thing? If he can create off the dribble and wreck havoc by driving into the lane and making plays, has an abundance of speed and is strong physically, why not? NOW, does he buy into the pecking order...that's another issue entirely.

Hou, duplicating Rose's talents in a less talented and more selfish person isn't a good match. That being said, if he is willing to be a #2 and is ok with only averaging 19-20ppg, then thats ok. The defense will suffer but recover, we are used to seeing small guards in Chicago.

Why would the clips move him? They would be idiots.

Because the Clippers are idiots.

I didn't even have to answer that. :lmao:

Anyway, the Clippers are as dumb as they come. (i.e., David Sterling)

EG wouldn't be a bad fit at all.....but is that what GarPax is looking for? I'm not sure.

Cubbies4ever said Gordon wants out of LA and wants to come to Indiana or Chicago.

He's on a rookie deal and producing. He isn't going anywhere. Its not an expiring.
