No we just want you to have consistency in how you analyze the team. You and other constantly harp that the only thing that matters is wins at the major league level. This team is going to win more games which means they are better than they were last year by the measure you said was the only thing that mattered.

But winning at the major league level would only matter for the Cubs if we would've added more substantial players VIA free agency. So if the Cubs would've added Michael Bourn, Zack Greinke and Josh Hamilton and they still only won 67 games, it would be a much bigger success.

I could also tell you that if they add those players, assuming health..the Cubs are in a better position at the all-star break and probably aren't in a position to sell off Soriano and Garza. You know, adding assets and not selling them for players with major red flags or A level filler.

But, lets celebrate Vizicano :fap:

Micahel Bourn and Josh Hamilton are both having horrific seasons. Greinke has pitched well, but adding a starter isn't going to change the fact that this team can't score runs.

Did they even attempt to upgrade offensively to solve a Grand Canyon-esque hole in the runs scored department? No!

They added a platoon of players to play RF and a back-up catcher. Regardless if Barney won a GG, he stinks at the dish and going into this season with Valbuena at 3B wasn't much better either at a power position, especially after having Ramirez here for so long.

I am not going to again go into who they should have or should not have acquired to at least upgrade offensively, but how competitive can any team be (Schierholtz has had a decent year) that has Valbuena, Barney, Schierholtz/Hairston, and Castillo as your bottom four, and your top guns are Rizzo, Castro, Soriano, and Dejesus?

Also, the chances that Bourn and Hamilton turning it around next year are a million times greater than Vabuena and Barney ever becoming quality players. They are utility IF's at best and they are starters on the Cubs. That tells you everything right there.
