It is... it is larger than the kitchen of the place I have lived in for the past 20+ years.

I shit you not, my tiny 2 bedroom is maaaaaybe 900 sf.

by the looks of it do you think it used to be a bedroom converted to a bathroom? Ive worked on 7000 sqft houses with smaller master baths then that one lol

Probably too late, but I think the angled would be/look great. And you get a little more elbow room at the sink since there wouldn't be a wall close to one side. You have the space for it so why not.

you have to strike a balance between what you like and what a future buyer of the house would like. The safest bet is no angle.

The bathroom was actually a second addition to the home- it s the only part of the house with a crawl instead of a basement, and the concrete foundation is far newer than anything else.
it sits off of the master bedroom, and It looks like they knocked out a bathroom towards the interior of the bedroom and extended the room, and added the bath to the back side.

one of the really fun projects we have planned is an exterior shower off of that bathroom as well. I think I am going to build an alcove out of stone.

That does not bode well for me....i bought a generator from them last November, never used it until 2 weeks ago when we had a storm here.
****** wouldn't fire...no spark.
I have the receipt and thought it would be no issue...the exhaust pipe has not a smudge of carbon on it.
Now I am worried.
Hopefully they have changed their return policies to keep up with HD and Lowes. Can't imagine how they couldn't and still survive.

Look forward to your post telling me I am full of shit for once:)

I have never returned anything to a home improvement store in my life that wasn't defective(so all major stores would cover it). I don't understand the value in skipping over consumer research for a product in an information age, but ignoring the time it takes to do the whole return process. It's almost like wanting a reason to complain about something, and having people at a counter say "I'm sorry about that" to you. All at the same time, enjoying higher prices because returns add costs.

That is going to be my approach when it is retirement time.
Gonna build a nice sprawling ranch house in Nevada from the ground up.
Make it how I like it, for exactly the reason you said.

Yes a ranch house. No stairs.

In my experience, it's totally random. I don't have any reason to inquire about anything beyond where an item is located, but occasionally I've been engaged by a worker who is very forward (not in a pushy salesman way, just friendly.) Some haven't known shit, some have been very helpful...I was looking at under sink reverse osmosis water filtration systems...retired plumber gave me some good advice as he was passing and saw me checking them out. Others have revealed that they don't know anything more than what's written on the package. I've been getting things out of the electrical aisle and overheard conversations between employees and do-it-yourselfers that made me want to step in and say, "Stop. Don't listen to this guy, because he's wrong about everything he just told you, and this project is more than you're ready for, and you're going to burn your house down."
Talked to a retired electrician working the plumbing department once at a Home Depot. I asked him why he was working plumbing. His answer was interesting: that particular Depot purposely put retired trades workers in departments away from their craft, because if they put the electricians in electrical, and plumbers in the plumbing, they found the guys were cruising the department and selling side jobs, and if the people weren't happy, they were calling the Home Depot like the guy was doing the work as a HD offered service. ?

One thing I want to add.

Ace's are usually 1/5th the size of the big boys, but oddly enough, you can find what you need at an Ace. And IMO, it's because they have certain overlapping hardware bits and ends organized in certain spots better. Like all your fasteners, bushings, nuts, bolts, screws, hooks, brackets, etc... all organized (unless you have a lazy Ace that hires cute 19 year old know-nothings to prance around over the gurus they used to have, as if they were running a Dairy Queen or something).

I know stores sell space to brands to cover areas without competitive interference, which is why you have the same exact sourced parts covering 4 aisles, with 4 prices and 4 different packages/brands. But if these places managed to streamline part sections better, fix the layouts, then you wouldn't have employees with years of handy-person experience running around trying to figure out if some part can be found in plumbing or electrical, when it has a multipurpose application and you need it for the garage. That 55 year old ex-foreman with 30 years of experience building houses wouldn't be annoyed at ever person looking for a $1.29 packet of washers. Go into an Ace, 9 times out of 10 you can spend 2 minutes and find the little section on your own and be in and out, vs 15 minutes at *any* of the big stores.

IMO, while they think it makes them more money, long run, it's self destructive.

Also, I miss Handy Andy. 25+ years ago the majors here were Builders Square vs Handy Andy. I'm glad Builders Square is gone, because they were a rip-off, but Handy Andy, especially in the 80's, were as good as big home centers ever got IMO. Too bad they switched up their quality model, for a build fast model... totally bankrupted them.

Just tossing this out there- as far as bargain hunting goes, the habitat for humanity re-store is friggin awesome, and the proceeds go to a good cause.

their selection is hit or miss, all donated from builders.
extra material from large jobs, new items that were incorrectly ordered or the customer changed their minds, and even used items that were pulled out during a remodel.
the place I built for my mom and my rentals are almost exclusively done from the re-store. I got a new in box fiberglass tub surround for 75 bucks, laminate floorings for about 25 cents a square foot, a great bathroom vanity and sink for 60 bucks, and a stainless kitchen sink for 40.

they might not have what you need, but if they do, the prices are unbeatable.
they are such good prices that I frequently drop in to see what they have, and if i can upgrade what I have somewhere I will buy it and get a nice unexpected upgrade.
last time around I picked up 2 dishwashers for 100 bucks a piece new in box. Didnt need them, but they were nice upgrades over what I had at a great price.
(that is my secret to keeping good renters- set the prices below market and upgrade at least 1 big item a year. keep them happy and make them feel like they are getting a killer value. one of my renters is a colleague- wanted the place for 6 months while he looked for a house to purchase. that was 3 and 1/2 years ago.)

Thanks for that advise. Never thought you could even buy stuff from them. Got one of their places nearby. Going to go check it out.

He is not lying it is a god damn gold mine of random stuff. If you are looking for an odd sized window or something off the wall to install into an empty space it can be very easy to find something cool and cheap.

Last time I went they had these old school doors, like 50 of them, they were ornate and awesome, but I didn't have any use for them. I ended up leaving that day with an aluminum baseball bat of all things...

The one by me has tools, furniture, light fixtures, doors and windows, random cabinets and sinks. It is just like a goodwill, but with reclaimed building materials.
