Saw the IMAX version of Skyfall. Good movie, but the best Bond movie is debatable, IMO. This one is very much heavy on story and Bond himself. There is the pre-req sex with the girl that dies, but not much focus or emphasis on the "Bond" girls in this film other than M. In all worth seeing, but with low action and scenery, not much need to see Daniel Craig's head shot for most of the movie on an IMAX screen.

That was going to be my question, is it one of those movies that is better to see in IMAX and it would seem it isn't.

There are moments when it was cool...but on the whole, save money by doing the regular show (or do what I did, hit the early matinee and pay the cheaper IMAX price (which turns out cheaper than the regular showing in the evening).

Argo - good movie. When you look at this + The Town + Gone Baby Gone, I think it's safe to say that Ben Affleck is a talented Director.

Javier is very outstanding in this movie. Still a cheesy Bond Villain as expected, but a well acted one. If that makes any sense.

Bardem was great, although almost wasted on his character. They could've had any decent actor play his role, it was hardly difficult. Personally I would've liked to see Bardem assume the role of a recurring Bond villain like say Blofeld. They seem to be setting the stage for re-makes of the earlier classic Bond films with Skyfall.

Finally saw Goon... it was a lot better than I thought it would be. I seriously didn't expect it to have that much "heart" to it. One of the few roles where Sean Williams-Scott was actually really likable.

Watched Skyfall at the IMAX over the weekend. Not bad, not great. I thought the film was well photographed, since they hired a legend in Roger Deakins. It was a decent flick for a popcorn movie.

One of my fav's. He was incredible in that movie!

Argo was fantastic. There shall be awards aplenty I would think.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Miška wants to see Skyfall. I think we'll see it tomorrow but really between The Hobbit and the next Star Trek, there's nothing much out that I'd like to see.

Interesting. I'm not sure what I think of James Franco in the leading roll though. He's definitely not one of my favorite actors.

I saw this trailer in the theaters a while back and felt the same way. At different points in it I said to myself, wow, this is bad, and wow, he kind of pulls it off.

Oz looks interesting enough. Yah James Franco is an interesting pick. I don't love or hate him. I will say this... it's refreshing NOT seeing Johnny Depp involved in this film which has over-acting Depp fantasy film written all over it.

Side note. Re-watched Mobsters the other night. Used to love that movie when I was younger. Sure the **** sucks now though. Not sure why I liked it so much when I was younger. I like mobster movies to begin with but just now realized after watching it again how incorrect some of the events where in the film. Christian Slater also sucks.
