my dog

lil ******* not eating his food and looks like hes droppin some weight. the wife has fed him some table scraps pretty frequently for the first time in his life is this the cause or is he possibly sick? just curious has anyone else went through this? im thinkin the scraps spoiled his ass but then again im worried he may be getting sick. I meen his food dish was full for three days he wouldn't eat then we start worrying she gives him a plate of scraps and he eats just fine

Boy it sound serious. Not a dog lover at all, but it sounds like a stomach issue. I'd bring the dog to the vet before somethign tragically happens.

Maybe it is sick, maybe not. It could be depression too. I had a dog that once went depressed, the vet said the dog was healthy. But it was obviously happy to be out, see new people(the vet, other dogs at the vet), ect, which makes it hard to diagnose. You can walk a dog so much, and give it so much attention, treats ect. At some point you just have to run down a list of activities that are more common for that breed, see if you're missing anything important. In our case, we got the dog a cat to play with, because the breed I had carried a sense of nurturing that didn't bode well with the highly independent people that it lived with.

If its only been 3 days, I would wait another day or 2, but if it doesn't eat any of its food and you are not giving him tables scraps then I would take him to the Vet to be sure.

Never a good thing if they stop eating normally.

Do you feed him on a schedule or just fill the bowl up and let him eat what he wants?

yea im thinkin its time to head to the vet refilled and cleaned his food dish and water ect at 5 this morn and the lil ****** hasn't touched it but I have a sneakin suspicion if I took some scraps out there he would eatem like np. dunno but don't think ima risk it just gonna spend the cash to be safe

always just keep his dish full. worried that would cause him to get fat but hell hes solid muscle runs around and plays constantly he generally just eats whenever he likes as foods always available. its just been over the last week he started this but it started exactly at the time the wife fed him table scraps

and no we got the same old brand hes always eaten but I just broke down and took him some scraps and he ate them right up np so how do I get the lil asshole to eat his dogfood now?

My 14 year old dog would miss meals every once in a while, but I think that was because he was old and doesn't have the same appetite. my 1 year old puppy started missing meals (not 3 days worth, but sometimes a day and a half), go a little worried about it. Recently switched their food and they both get excited when its time to eat.

not sure what type of food you get for him, but maybe switch it up...get a high quality brand that uses minimal to 0 additives. Its a little more expensive but you also don't have to give him as large of a portion because he will be getting more nutrients and less additives/fillers.

Try taking his regular dog food and pour some gravy over it...if he eats the dog food then, hes spoiled..If he just licks the gravy, he might be sick

some spaghetti and hotdogs and hamburger leftovers things of that nature oh and some steak

Lol could definitely be spoiled then.... my Dad's dog was like yours.... they would load food in the bowl and let her eat as she wanted to and then him and my stepmom started giving her good stuff, steak and junk and she stopped eating and started begging lol

If he's still taking a dump I wouldn't be worried. If not get to the vet. If he stopped eating his food right after getting scraps for the first time he's fucking with you. Good luck.
