What? You mean people can't just snap their fingers and be rich(by your standards)?

Think of it this way, it was one BIG investment, rather than an even bigger investment in many many payments(people who buy a ton of bottled water). Plus, less trash(mind you, trash that is a net loss for municipalities to recycle, therefore waste management services that are hired by the government don't even bother recycling most plastic).

Well A) I live in a townhouse and its against my association to build such a thing outside.
B ) I don't have that kind of money right now at all.

So yeah I have to wait to find a job that pays more than enough, combined with a significant others income and then I can build my own house. I plan on living in this townhouse for the next 3-5 years.

Sure, I just like my method better for myself. This wasn't supposed to start a debate.

Wasn't trying to start a debate. In most cases, the system you have is not practical for most people.

Yeah, and I still pay taxes, sewer, and water. If they let me opt out, I'll take care of the rest. But the funny thing is, even after paying, I'm still going to save money on water.

Ah yes, I suppose your sewage has to go somewhere.

Joliet water was awful. Now it's tolerable in that the EPA has cleared it of the radon within.

Tolerable is putting it nicely. lol

Yeah, the economy is bad. I know I was smart(or lucky) to do a lot of things before the economy took a shit. I wouldn't be able to afford a lot of the same things now. Not to mention I built most of what I have, which requires less modern lifestyle(staring at some form of screen for hours upon hours) and nearly complete sweat equity.

Sewage is no problem.

Yeah, I always said if I was graduating college in about 1998 I would have been well off. I was involved a ton in the early internet (mainly because my dad worked on the development of the WWW via Ameritech, so he was always bringing shit home and showing us kids). I could have made a ton of money in web development I think, before that market became ultra saturated (and now is advanced way over my head as is the case with most IT stuff, which is where the market demand is). Now I kinda feel stuck in an endless circle as I go nowhere. I have little creativity when it comes to job searching as well.

the kanawa river is the main water source here im contemplating attemping to setup a well here but living on the side of a mountain has me fearing either a. there isn't any water under my land to even tap into or b. ill pay out my ass for the 1000 ft hole they have to drill to find it. btw the chemical they leaked smells like licorice its unpleasant to say the least and I fear for my children more than myself. as hell im covered in shit that can cause cancer almost all day in my work I figure my days are numbered anyway.

im gonna check into these whole house filters sounds like a possible solution or at least something that could help

Install them where the main feed line comes to your house. There are many levels of filters. I think it will help but I do spend way too much time here.
