Oh, I was unable to find a decline bench. The only one that we have is for situps. what if I used that with the dumbbells?

Thank god for my bike. I tried jogging, but no bueno for me.

I literally couldn't run either about a month ago. Now I can inteval run a mile consistently around 1230, but my record is 1100. I am using a treadmill though so it is easier on my knees.

I keep it simple, and always give the same muscle group 48-72 hours rest before working again directly. Biceps and triceps are more for show than anything useful, I only do them directly once a week b/c everything else works them indirectly.

You should be thinking from the waist down, work those glutes, hammies, and quads and you'll get the heart rate in the target cardio zone. Once you get proper form down(hopefully you have familiarized yourself with knee/toe line), then move onto free standing squats which force your core to stabilize...as opposed to the Smith machine which does it for you.

Best routine I found for newbies is 2 on and 1 off. Day 1 upper body, day 2 lower, day 3 off.

I'll double-check, but looks like you could use some more back work in that routine.

I found this site when looking on some of the suggested exercises. Pretty helpful
http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/

SO today I am hoping to do Back and Shoulders with 20 min of interval treadmill or eliptical

http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/detail/view/name/band-assisted-pull-up

If you decide to incorporate any pulling movements such as this into the routine, use an overhand grip(thumb over bar). The link shows an underhand, with thumb under bar.

Placing your thumb underneath the bar incorporates biceps, thereby reducing load on lats.

Good luck

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
When I used to go to a regular gym (crossfit is not regular) I would always alternate my grips on pullups. One overhand, one underhand.

OK today's workout in the books. If I get time I am taking a bit iof a walk tonight.

Back: Lat pulldowns 35 warm up, 75 8 to chest 8 to back of neck 4 x, , pull ups - I can't do them even wtih 112 pound offset. So I got a band, wrapped it around the standard pull up bar and did 4 sets of 15 reps. Deadlifts - Lots of funm, did 110 pounds I think. Amazing how much I could feel it in my legs too. Barbell Bent Over Rows - used the "Smith" machine Bar plus 70 pounds. 4 x10, dumbbell reverse flyes - You want to talk about amazing. This killed me. I used lousy 12 pounders and barely did 4x10, shrugs - I think I used 70 pounds on the Smith Machine. 4x12

Shoulders: Military Press 40 plus bar 4x10, Front-side lateral raise - another exercise that owns me. did 4x10 but only 10 pound weights.

My back is not sore, but I am aware of it. Not sure I want a sore back anyways. My shoulders say Hello. :(

So, I know this doesn't sound manly. But, I use DDP Yoga. I am a big guy with plenty strength and size. I just want to cut and get more flexible and DDP Yoga does wonders. Its not holistic like other Yoga's. Its like a high intensity yoga that gets you sweating in minutes and gets you flexible really quick. Also, the inches just melt off of you. Everything tighten because you are using your own force against you. I would suggest just reading some views if you get interested. He has done wonders with people. You can be 600 pounds or be almost cripple and still be able to do his stuff. He also has a killer ab workout. Oh and for wrestling fans, yes, this is the DDP from WCW and WWE.
