I really believe Noah will be gone this year. I think after the poor year he had and the quick decline will add to that. I think GarPax may see Rose, Noah, Butler won't win a championship and with Noah being the weakest link he will be gone. That will hopefully give Gibson or Mirotic time to play Noah's spot and hopefully Portis develops into something. Although I can see Gibson getting traded too.

I think both Noah and Gibson are being shopped right now, but I want Noah gone more than Gibson. Gibson can start next year anyways. The front office is probably wanting a deal that comes with a backup point guard in return.

At this point, I don't even mind moving both. If we could somehow get a legit starting wing by trading both I'll give GarPax mad props (this will not happen though),

So uh, what are his strengths then?

He's a scoring threat throughout the game and can go on hot streaks. He's also talked up as a leader by his teammates, for what it's worth. I would not trust him in crunch time or late in the game, though.

Don't get me wrong---he's definitely draftable. There aren't 40 guys coming out who are better than him.

not a knock on portis, as he could turn out to be a solid pro, but I would have preferred tyus over him. are we ready to trust that we have a healthy rose for a whole season? im not. we have a ton of bigs already, and most on here were upset at the lack of minutes Niko was able to get last year due to all the depth on the frontline. and it seems like itll be pretty tough to move any of the other bigs due to age or recovering from injuries. id love it if they were able to trade Taj for a wing or PG but the value isn't going to be there currently

I've seen A LOT of Bobby Portis, as I worked at a Fayetteville TV station for three years before moving away very recently.

As I saw the draft progressing, my only thought was, "God, don't get Portis." But you could see it coming from a mile away. I was a little ticked when the Bulls proved me right. Now I hope he/they prove me wrong.

Portis was never thought of as a great or dynamic player for the Razorbacks until the hype machine took over the last two months of the season. I admit, he played very well by college standards. I have very little confidence that will translate over into the pros.

First off, the guy is inconsistent as hell. Disappeared for long stretches and when the Hogs needed him most. He famously shirked from the spotlight and put the ball in other people's hands with the game on the line.

Don't get me wrong. It's not all bad. As far as scorers go, he's done very well for himself. Can't shoot for shit (long cold spells and then just fades into the background of a game), but the guy does know how to get to the rim.

The joke at Arkansas was that he would just jack up a shit ton of shots until he got his. I just hope he doesn't become a joke in Chicago.

Hey, I hope I'm wrong! If so, I'll gladly eat crow.

I'm an Arkansas fan so obviously I'm biased but..

-He was a 5* recruit and broke Corliss Williamson's freshman record for points in a game. He was our best player the minute he stepped on campus. Don't know where you got that he wasn't considered a great player for so long.

-He had a double double in like 15/18 SEC games. He was actually pretty consistent...Qualls was the one who would score 25 one game and 5 the next before he really turned it on in the NCAA's.

Portis did fade a bit and struggled scoring in the SEC and NCAA tournaments but he still got his rebounds. He could have been a better defender against guys bigger than him...he got pushed around a bit. But I think you're reaching a little.

I know that a lot of us in Arkansas will be Bulls fans now. Bobby was a great representative for us and works as hard as anyone. Hope he does really well in Chicago.

You have a different opinion. That's cool. For the record, I think Portis was a very good college player. But he also has some serious flaws, flaws that hurt his game down the stretch and might be better ironed out by another year or two in school. Very good, but very unpolished. Coaching can probably help with some of that.

Portis was the best player on a mediocre team his first year. Showed promise, but no one really thought he was going to be great. Even midway through the 2014-15 season, we still didn't know what we had with the guy.

I never said he didn't consistently score. That's actually the opposite of what I said. I said he got his every game and scored in bunches throughout the game, but would fade seriously down the stretch. He also didn't seem to want the ball late in games, although I admit that's a personal assumpion---I suppose it might have been a coaching decision. As an Arkansas fan, you have to admit---close game in the last minute or two, Portis wasn't taking over and really didn't even touch the ball much.

I'm not meaning to shit on the guy. I'm just pointing out the things that scare me for his pro prospects. I'm rooting for him 100 percent, but that doesn't change what I see.

He was the 22nd pick, WTF do you expect to be left at that point in the draft ?

Well, Tyus Jones. Jones has the look of a Chris Paul or Chauncy Billups level decision maker and footwork combination player to me, quick enough to make up for size and then some on defense with steals and harassment. They play a contolled game. I thought Jones should have been a top 5 pick because his shot will improve for a long time but you see he has the balls to hit "big shots".

I am not complaining either, I can see his upside and possible best player available aspect. Also, he just needs to replace the Muhommed role on the team as the fourth big. We still need to move either Gibson or Noah this off-season, but not trading anybody Thursday defers that asset to a more rainy day.

If we indeed are limited by Butler to two more seasons of control, it would be nice to stock pile some future assets. I hope the Kings can fork over that pick next year but the west is too stacked.
