What about this French kid?
Sekou Doumbouya
I like him. Has a high ceiling but also a really low floor. He's still only 19, so he's plenty young. Bulls also have enough wings though. If he is drafted, he's pretty much riding the pine on the Bulls team at least for the first couple of years. But he seems like one of those players that the Spurs draft and you're like "who?", then in a couple of years, he's a superstar. Some people think this kid is the next Giannis or Durant. That's a pretty high ceiling.

Bol Bol wouldn’t be a bad pick. He needs a couple years to add weight. He is really nothing like his dad.

That's what I was thinking. The poor man's French Gianni's. Nothing wrong with him riding the pine, this team isn't going anywhere anytime soon

Yes
But after pick 11 was pulled they immediately put Lakers in top 4. Why?
I dont get it either. I am assuming that they start with the number one pick, then no matter how many more times the new orleans repeat ping pong ball comes out it just gets cast aside. So is the first ball out the number one pick since everyones extras are there at that time, so when they read them off in reverse it meant that the lakers ball came out early?

They came up with a new system of odds selecting the picks. How they came up with it is, I believe, proprietary. They do a poor job at letting people into that.

Nothing to do with how teams jump in. In years past if certain teams took certain spots you knew teams had moved up and in certain cases into certain positions.

Yeah, the actual formula for doing this is something I'll probably never be able to wrap my head around, but it seems odd that just based on (at least this was the ESPN explanation) the Timberwolves getting #11 that the Lakers automatically jump to the top 4. Just hard to imagine a year removed from signing Lebron that the Lakers are "gifted" a top 4 selection.

I don't assume this new formula is here to stay, but at least it worked to discourage the idea of tanking.

Side Note: I'm sure the combine is starting soon at Moody, and that's why so many of the players were there last night, but it was a tad uncomfortable that they kept going to shots of Zion while it was going on.

The "formula" is essentially the same. They just leveled the odds out.

Ahh, guess I've never really paid attention to what the odds are outside of the Bulls. FWIW, there needs to be an overhaul of the entire lottery.

I think the opposite will happen. Teams that finish closer to making the postseason now have almost the same odds of winning the #1 pick as the team that finishes in last place of the league. You now do yourself a greater 'disservice' by getting the #8 seed and getting swept because you aren't throwing away a 2% chance of landing the #1 pick versus a tanking team having a 30% chance, you are throwing away a 14% chance that is almost the same odds as all the other lottery teams.

The one counter to that is does that dice roll of getting the top pick offset the "greedy owner" narrative of getting some home playoff game revenue etc?(Plus increased attendance during a playoff push)

I'm all for Bol2.

The only concern are injury. I would take Bol Bol in a heartbeat. His shooting is ridiculous and he dominates the paint and with his size will dominate the paint in the NBA.

If he could put on about 20 pounds he would be a force.

Bulls need to take Bol Bol.

The NBA isn't an inside-out game anymore.

Holy shit, yeah this is my bad. I didn't realize he was 52% from 3. Obviously a small sample, but holy ****.
Kind of funny if you think about it...Bol Bol's body type and build is not built for post play at all. In fact, it seems he avoids contact. But he's a straight bomber from 3 and it's considered probably his greatest strength other than shot blocking. It's like he's the Manute Bol meme realized...
