Because we might as well be able to say, "I'm going to draft 1984-1993 Michael Jordan." If we can't draft rookies because of the whole 'unknown' scenario, then why should we be able to select coaches who aren't currently coaching? I really don't want Phil Jackson, I was using him as an example. Same goes for Pat Riley. Riley runs the team, he's not a coach.

you're comparing players who have not set foot in the NBA to coaches who are more than proven and mostly are legends

one of the big reasons i picked all-time is because i don't know some of these current coaches,or i don't know much about their coaching career off the top of my head

the last couple of picks would be pretty much a crapshoot for me....

i think it adds an interesting twist as well, i don't see the issue

how current coaches coach these hypothetical teams are almost as much of an 'unknown' as some of these coaches
