@CEmma670: Ryan Pace has scouted Michigan St. DE Shilique Calhoun, a fit as a 3-4 edge rusher for the Bears. Likely first-round pick who's a force.

Not a big fan of Nassib personally.

In my world he needs to put on 20 lbs and play 5 technique, not enough twitch to play OLb.

Could be a Brett Kiesel type player.

Wouldn't touch him before the 3rd would hope he hits the 4th.

A lot can happen between now and then but feel Calhoun will fall in that range between bears 1st and 2nd round picks from a value standpoint. Think he probably goes somewhere in the 20s. Bears need a pass rusher bad, could see Lawson and Ogbah as rd 1 possibilities.

Calhoun and Ogbah probably have produced the best in this class and while I like Calhoun he doesn't have the motor of Ogbah or Floyd and can go unnoticed throughout games IMO.

Floyd is too small and lacks the power this system demands from its OLBs.

He does need to add weight but power for size is there. Has the length too. If the Bears are picking as high as it looks like they will be Ogbah would be the OLB of choice though.

What do you think of Joey Bosa? 5-tech or possibly OLB?

In this system OLB.

The OLBs have such reasonable pass coverage responsibilities you don't need to be elite in that area.

I would run the Bosa pick up.

Tend to agree. He could slide inside at times as well like McPhee does but think he would be a base OLB. He would probably be my top choice if we pick high enough.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
The only college players standing out is the defensive players. Have all the talented players now play defense since it's better hit someone than be hit? Huge difference in talent also. No QBs standout. There are a few RBs that are really good, some WRs. Everything else on offense side of the ball in college is blah.

Joey Bosa is a JJ Watt, Justin Smith type DE in the 3-4 defense.

That is what I originally thought and he would be pretty scary next to McPhee. I can see both sides and agree with Windy he could definitely play OLB in our system as there are minimal drop requirements. Overall, I think if the Bears are lucky enough to land him he could be used at both spots and present a lot of problems opposite or beside McPhee.
