Sorry I had to start a thread, but don't think anyone noticed my previous plea for help.

I still need help with my iPod. I asked for help last week on another thread, but don't think everyone probably saw it. If anyone is a technical expert in this area, please contact me. I'm trying to diagnose the problem so I know if there is something wrong with the actual iPod or if it is another issue.

My iPod is my life source. I need it to survive. Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

Buy an MP3 player, problem solved. In all seriousness they are far less of a hassle.

i.e my buddies old ass PC crashed, and theres no way to load the mp3's from his ipod to his PC. He had to buy an application that could do the transfer. Whereas with an mp3 player you can just drag and drop them from the Mp3 player. You can just drag and drop mp3's to the mp3 player, whereas the ipod makes you jump through hoops. **** apple. Sorry.

Bri: What are your issues? If you post them here, I'm sure we could figure it out.

I LOVE Apple, so if I could **** it, I would.

For some reason my computer won't recognize my iPod so I can't load any songs onto it. This started about 2 weeks ago. I thought it might be the cord and I bought a new one, but that did not help. I only have a few hundred songs on my iPod at the moment and I am used t having 4500 t 5000.

When you plug the iPod in, even though the computer doesn't recognize it, does the iPod's batter start charging?

My son won an Ipod shuffle 4 years ago for a school contest. They handed it to him sans packaging. I was never able to get it working on our PC, despite contacting customer service and downloading all the apropriate software. We ended up throwing it away. Since then any MP3/MP4 player has to have that windows media player icon on the package or I'm not buying it.

My iPod can't even be formatted anymore. I had my laptop when Windows Vista first came out and I could only load songs up to artists starting with G or H and then I'd get an error. Figuring it was my laptop and needing a new desktop anyways, I got a new PC and alas I had the same issues. I did hard resets, downloaded all the "fixes" and now I'm to the point where the computer recognizes my iPod but I can't wipe it or reformat it. It's very frustrating not being able to get my new music on it and only have artists up to H on my iPod.

Any help for me would be greatly appreciated as well.

Wish i could help, but I've avoided Ipods from Day1.

Bri/et al: My advice is when you feel the need to upgrade, you can easily find an mp3 player or even a phone that works with a simple drag/drop and is not horribly locked into bloatware.

I tried this and it did not help. I had already downloaded the newest version of iTunes.
