I live in a small subdivision in the country. New neighbor's brother decided to do target practice in the backyard today. When the cop showed up she was less than amused to hear over 50 shots while talking to me. She was at their house for an hour . Shooting has not started again.

I was shooting with a friend of mine at his house and we got the police called on us. It was outside city limits and nothing but wooded area and the neighbor lived across the the highway. It was in the middle of the afternoon too. The policeman showed up and checked us out to make sure we weren't doing anything stupid.

Then he when to the neighbor and told them we weren't doing anything wrong. After they left, the neighbor started to cross the the street yelling and cursing. He never fully stepped in the driveway. We just went back to the back yard and cleaned up. Dude was insane. Why would you scream at someone knowing full well they had loaded weapons in hand.

I am guessing one of them didn't have a FOID card. Took her 30 min to get her report done before going back to the house.

I guess that's the difference in NC and Illinois. The police officer just show up and check to make sure our guns were legit, talked to us about what guns he had, told us not to shoot after dark and left

We also weren't in a subdivision though. We were off a back road highway with large wooded areas behind every house. If someone was target practicing in our subdivision it would probably be weird

That's infringing on rights if they were within the law of shooting their weapon.
