I have the right to not have fucking morons shooting guns near my house. Cop agreed. I've been here 17 years and don't allow this shit. There have been other morons that think it was ok to shoot guns here because we're in the country even though there are 16 homes here on half to one acre lots. I shut them down too. Urblock Law #1. No shooting of guns near my home.

But you don't run things. If they are in their legal right to use firearms in that distance between your home and yours then there's nothing you can do about it. If I was your neighbor I'd print up the law and if you complained I'd say sorry, but I'm within my legal right to do so. In other words, I'd tell you to pound salt.

I don't run things but know the people that do. The woman next door to the fine young men runs a daycare in her home. The guy next door to me has a 3 year old. If you're ok with shooting guns in a residential area it's good that we aren't neighbors. I don't have a problem with guns just idiots with guns.

I know someone who owned a very large chunk of land in NM and was miles from his closest neighbor. He could do whatever he wanted.

Nm is not one big ranch. There are places in new york and illinois that are miles from their nearest neighbor. Also when i lived in albuquerque, someone in the suburb of rio ranchos actually shot down a police helicopter

I'm not arguing, we're having a spirited discussion. I'm just trying to understand if they were or were not within their legal right to fire off their weapons? Did you ever attempt to talk to them and see what their demeanor was? Which direction they were shooting? At what object they were shooting at?
I'm just wondering what the cop found that gave him the authority to make them stop.

Good. I have talked to the neighbor and his lady a couple of times. They walk their German Shepard past our house. The problem is his brother and his friends. There is no good direction for them to shoot from that property. When I think there is a threat to me or my family I take action. This subdivision was supposed to be 48 homes. The developer lied about addressing drainage problems. My attorney and I forced him to make it right and shut down all future expansion.

Seems to me that if the shooting were legal, It would have continued.
If the cop made them stop, and it was in fact legal, then the residents could file a complaint. Easy as pie.
I am in the boonies myself, and I have several neighbors with ranges. gunfire is common to hear. However, to the north and west of me, there are no ranges and shooting is not safe. If I heard gunfire from that direction, you could bet your ass the county would be out here asap to shut it down.

There are plenty of things that may be legal but that you probably shouldn't do in order be good neighbors. If I play my music loud and a neighbor comes over to ask to keep it down, I can probably be a ****** and say **** off what I am doing is legal or I can maybe just be a good neighbor and turn the music fucking down.
