He wants to win championship rings, not circus rings.

See, logically this makes sense. But there's a feeling deep down that believes it's about more than winning. He wants to be the next MJ, the next global icon. He says it's all about winning, but I'm calling bullshit. A lot of it is about LeBron and what he gets.

Not that it takes anything away from Chicago. We have a huge market for him to flourish in. But if James starts asking for personnel power and special privileges, I say **** him. Not even MJ had that much power.

Personally, I don't like James very much. But I'm willing to bend a little in order to get him because he's an amazing talent. That said, I'm definitely not willing to get ass raped in order to sign him.

See, I would budge on that statement, but I don't buy into the MJ shadow argument. To me, that's like saying Mickey Mantle was in Babe Ruths shadow. If anything, LeBron would be in 10x as many shadows in NYC.

NYC boos at everything Knicks related. The Knicks could be winning a game, and they still scream nasty BS at Lee. They even do it to A-Rod, pre-steroid and post-WSC. But they love their boy DJ, and they loved Starks and Ewing. Those guys started their careers in NY, and well... they got boo'd a lot too. The Nets aren't far off, and Knick fans will become Net fans over a LBJ signing, that's so much more of a shadow than MJ.

Also I think Cleveland is smothering him to death. LBJ is an attention whore who went into hiding! That has to be some major indicator of things to come.

NJ first is a smoke screen. In fact, I think the NBA could prevent him from signing with NJ because the official announcement of a meeting this early could be interpreted as tampering.

Miami is the only real competition for us at this point IMO. But the sheer fact that LeBron bought 2 prime homes within the last month, and both happened to be in Chicagoland, carry more weight than Wade's new found crybaby-ness.

If LeBron goes to NJN i am convinced of one thing...That somehow this Russian guy paid Lebron half a billion dollars under the table on top of the max contract he's going to give him. Theres absolutely zero logic to signing with them over the Bulls.

I just dont see him in Miami. Through all of this, Wade is the only one saying im not going anywhere and you guys will come play with ME. You know theres competition between LBJ and Wade. There has been since their 2nd or third year in the league when the LBJ-Melo thing died out. Wade has a ring and i dont see Lebron adding more to his hands and yet still having Wade 1up him. Wade would be known as the Kobe of this era, now LeBron.

When did this happen? There were rumors he was looking for homes but it turned out to be a farce.

Not if we're going to let LeBron play GM and run everything. Screw that. He may be immensely talented, but he hasn't won jack shit yet.

From what I've read, he was behind a lot of the moves in Cleveland (including the Jamison deal). Worry about what you do on the court LeBron and leave management decisions to the boys upstairs.

Another thing working against the Nets: Rod Thorn is retiring and they don't have a replacement

The one thing that I'm slightly worried about LeBron coming to Chicago is his entourage coming w/ and interfering, which is what reportedly happened in Cleveland

No idea. I thought it was legit. The Onion has failed me yet again as a source!

If Lebron is all about winning then he would even get on the Jersey Turnpike. People say that he'll be in Jordan's shadow but that won't be the case if he gets his rings. Winning also helps James get his money because imagine if he did win his first ring in Chicago? My god they won't stop talking about it and the endorsement deals he has now would be shallow compared to all of the companies that will bow down in his presence. The guy might end up on a box of Wheaties and not have to win a Olympic medal. Do the right thing James, I've been to Jersey and nothing is there that says winner
