ND is horrible.
So I am here listening to the radio online as I pretend to actually get some things done, online....and I hear an advertisement for 2.5 men.

Wait, what, this show is still on the air, who knew?

I probably haven't watched an entire program off of network tv of my own volition in 8 yrs or something....maybe only 5, but definitely 5.

I watch plenty of cable TV, but mostly stream it to my laptop in bed or chromcast it to my Samsung. I literally have never seen DWTS and have seen maybe 2 episodes of "Survivor" in my life (lady friend and her friend were watching and I like sex).

It isn't so much that I don't watch network tv, but no one i've hung around for the last decade really watches network tv....and that basically goes back to college.

WHO IS WATCHING MOST OF THIS STUFF? WHO WATCHES LIKE REGULAR FOX PROGRAMMING THEY PUSH DURING NFL GAMES?

Who watches shitty sitcoms that are about sassy, big mouthed white women?

Who watches bad looking dramas about hard scrabbled Boston cops who are now working in the mayor's office?

Like who wants to see this crap/?

Can someone enlighten me?

I mean.... I stay away from reality TV shows and all the bullshit singing or dancing or talent shows on network TV but I like some stuff on the big networks..... Gotham is pretty good... Sleepy Hollow is solid.... I've been giving Scorpion on CBS a shot but idk for how much longer....

I don't like sit down and watch them as scheduled though if that is what you mean.... I torrent all my stuff and watch it after it has aired already.

Under 40 tho?

I don't see it on a regular basis or hear about it.

Do they see it as a guilty pleasure; like that bag of frozen snickers fun-sized bars they think we don't see in their freezers?

This is just my opinion, but they probably watch that shit to justify their attitude..

If you ever get a chance, watch "The Way of The Gun" with James Caan..The opening scene involves an exchnage between two guys who clearly dont give a shit (Jim Johnson) and a loud mouthed broad

Is Gotham the one with Magnum PI playing the blue collar patriarch of some obviously Irish. family where everyone goes into the Police dept. and rapes the public sector for millions in pension monies?

OR is it something with Will Smith's wife?

I dunno about anything that has Will Smith's wife in it....seems like a red flag.

Eh Gotham is the FOX show which is like a Batman prequel.... starts off when Bruce Wayne's parents are murdered and mostly follows James Gordon and his partner and has lots of villain origin stuff.... young Penguin, young Poison Ivy, young Catwoman, etc. Idk what you are thinking of.

Sleepy Hollow is solid if you like the sci-fi stuff which I am a junkie for.

I am also an insufferable cable snob

I think it was like snobbish and sort of hipster repulsive yrs ago, but nowadays with streaming and cable having such good programming......and with the emergence of internationalization of a lot of series.....who would even consider that stuff??

I don't know....I am not the coolest cat; it took me years to jump onto The Wire and Mad Men.....so I am no great arbiter of what is good. I just know I don't want to stare at a public toilet bowl all day....or ABC comedies about white chicks in manhattan and their zainy hijinx....

Well, I like Batman....he is my favorite hero archetype.

I like origins stuff as well, so maybe you're on to something!

Ya, Bluebloods, HOLYSHIT.....who watches retread stuff like this????

I tried to watch some West Wing DVDs yrs ago bc my dad really liked it and he is reasonably intelligent (got me into Breaking Bad), but the writing is just LOLbad.

I mean people think Aaron Sorkin stuff is like top notch, and I find myself laughing at them when they say it. I mean some of his movies were ok, but....nothing, NOTHING compared to great TV on cable like The Wire or True Detective....or Breaking Bad.....or even really good international series like Les Revenants .

I'll do you one better. I was so hip I didn't even own a tv but then got one and borrowed a dvd of sopranos 3 seasons in, and got hooked on hbo stuff. I lived in ny when sopranos came out and remembered thinking based on the ads it looked like a shitty show. Then I discovered the best tv show ever made.

And yeah aaron sorkin needs to start doing coke again because the news room was epic offal

Didn't the ads make it look like a comedy?

I remember my folks had HBO in spurts, like when they offered better deals or when they just had changed and got an introductory rate, lol....and I was like, "this looks like BS."

Flash forward 3-4 yrs and I am waking up, literally go to my housemates room, lighting a bong/smoking hash and then begging him to download(lol, I am old) a Sopranos episode and throw me his cell phone so I could order some grub without having to move 50 feet and get my own cell phone.

I LITERALLY have "The Gambler" loaded on another window and ready to watch!

Gotham is great. Once Upon a Time is great writing and some decent acting as well. Castle is a great show. I love Last Man Standing with Tim Allen. Very funny. That's about all I catch on free tv.

I thought it was going to be a comedy about bridge and tunnel goombahs and the name 'uncle junior' irritated the hell out of me. Oh how wrong I was although it is also one of the funniest shows ever made
