There is a difference between texas outlaw country and that nashville shit. Has been for a long time.
Well Waylon sure broke that barrior.

My buddy was over tonight, he's a studio session guitar player for a lot of big names in Nashville. He did Keith Urbans 'sweet thing', Rodney Atkins album, Tim Mcgraw, Florida Georiga lines biggest hits and a bunch of others-- said all of the guys suck and don't write their own material lol. He said in 3-5 years you won't remember the Florida Geogia Lines of the world bc Nashville will spit em out and find someone else who can sing the songs my buddy and other session guys write. Said 90% of all the new pop country music you hear on the radio is written by this kid he knows who is, If I remember correctly, 22-23 years old and is from New Jersey who came down to nashville to make moeny haha. Didn't even listen to country before this

I'm not a big fan of music in general, and definitely not a big fan of country. But I did see Jason Aldean in concert about a year ago. I live by this outdoor pavilion that's right on the water(5 minute walk) and they always have free, or really cheap concerts, think we paid $10 to get in. I just go to get drunk and check out the wonderful assortments of pussy we have here in Florida.

I've seen Aldean, Snoop-dog, Chicago, the Village People(Ymca) lol, a whole bunch of Jazz musicians, Blues musicians, ect for like 5-10 bucks per concert.

I like a lot of the music that's considered "new country". idc what it is labeled, personally.

Bubblegum Country. Here for now, but it's flavor doesn't last too long.

.... or as Tom Petty put it: Modern country is bad rock with a fiddle.

you're not in tulsa are you? I'm just thinking of their outdoor amphitheater on the water. I lived right next to it to for a year or so in high school. Firehouse ("Finally Found the Love of a Lifetime") was playing a concert there once and I disrupted it by blowing an airhorn out our apartment window

Although, I suspect our definition of "pussy" may be a little different...

I have a real hard time with Country Music. I can appreciate a well crafted song or strong harmony, but very few voices work for me, there are a few though. Tanya Tucker has/had an amazing voice. I know its not technically country but Allison Krouse and some of the harmony work she has done is pretty amazing and spot on. I've been into Johnny Cash lately, I think the movie helped me appreciate the early days. And, Jennifer Nettles has a solid set of pipes on her, was amazed at how good when I heard her in duet with Lady Gaga. Jennifer's voice was way superior.

Maybe Alabama for the harmony and song work but really only their more popular works. Charlie Daniels for creativity, but that's about it.

I like modern country. It isn't the whiny crying crap most of it used to be. It isn't really country though. Most of it is classic pop rock done with instruments and vocal styles familiar to country listeners.

Do people really think Jason Aldean and Florida Georiga Line are country? LOL- I just realized people literally call this music country. I hear it when I'm out and I say "Oh it's another southern pop song." but people call that -t country???

Give me Ryan Bingam, Waylon Jennings, Chris Knight, Kris Kristoffenson-- Seriously I can't believe people think Tim Mcgraw is country.

LMAO at all those blue collar rednecks trying to act all hard and good ol' boy backwoods while listening to Brantley Gilbert and Eric Church.. Dude, secretarys at the dentist office in downtown Chicago listen to the same stuff. There ain't nothin country bout Eric Chuch or Brantley Gilbert..

Reading Waylon Jennings' autobiography; been in a big kick of him lately after seeing his son, Shooter, play and met Waylon's touring band and Shooter after show.

Best real country artist out there.
I just saw Kris Kristofferson perform and he's kind of pickled after many years of heavy substance abuse, but still it was really nice.
