After the worst basketball superstars generation of all time (LBJ,Wade,Bosh,Howard,Carmelo etc) we have the new generation full of skills, passion and respect for the game. (Durant,Rose,Love,Westbrook,Irving etc)

Anyone else is hoping for better basketball days?

Maybe the basketball can become again as it was the good old days. With superstars who don't care only for money and fame, with great passion for the game, super competitiveness and mutual respect for each other. Who see the game as a team game and would die for their teammates and not only for their stats and their big contracts.

That is the generation of superstars that the game deserves after Jordan,Kobe,Malone,Hakeem,Stockton,Dirk and so many other players who gave their souls to the game.

All this shiny shit was just a bad period of players who got fame and money winning nothing.

True. But I don't think that can detract from the character of the players mentioned (I would also add Kevin Love in there). The future of basketball does seem to be in good hands.

It's just that I see in the new generation some of the quality the old guys had. Watching KD vs KLove 2 days ago was something I had years to see. Noone would stop fighting until the final whistle.

You watch a Melo vs LeBron game or a Melo vs Howard game and after the 3rd quarter someone will raise the white flag and start joking around not caring about losing the game. And you see Durant,Rose,Love and Irving going crazy when their team is going to lose a game. Just like the old great players did. All of them respect each other. All of them won't speak shit about a basketball player. All of them respect everyone in their team. All of them put basketball above the money and glamour.

This would make a very good description of what Derrick Rose-Loul Deng and the Bulls are right now.
Our team cares and are a prime example of a close knit team that genuinly seem to care.
It shows on the court.
Our currant team is taking the right approach because they are oldschool.

I don't know what Wade and Bosh did that was so bad in the recent generation. Bosh isn't even a superstar anyway. Sounds like you're being biased to the new generation because there's a Bull in the new generation.

We'll see how "passionate and respectful" the new generation is in 5 years if they feel like they're owner isn't putting them in a position to win championships and situations like that.

Nothing to do because it is a Bull in there.

And of course I am not talking about someone requesting a trade. It is something normal. I couldn't care less than what team a player chooses for his career.

And of course I am not talking about their talent.

It's their attitude and the way they see the game. Their low competitiveness and the feeling that they don't play for the right reasons.

PS:Wade is the worst one.

A-friggin-men.

Wade is on the MT. Rushmore of shooting guards in my opinion and some on this forum have Lebron on their top 10 list. These players are enjoyable to watch. I don't think Derrick Rose wants to win any more than Dwyane Wade wants to win.

Anyone who believes different should watch the 2006 Finals again...

The Heat are the greatest team I have ever seen.
Lebron James really is the king and probably the best in history.
Dwayne Wade is the greatest 2guard of his generation and one of the youngest finals mvp.
Simply awsome dude.
Chris Bosh is the premiere powerforward in the league.
No one will be able to stop the Heat for the nexxt five years.
They will break all the Bulls records.
Derrick Rose will take his talents to South Beach as soon as his contracts up.
The Heat will go down as the greatest team in history and they deserve it.
I love the Heat just like you guys.
GO HEAT........Yipppppppyyyyy

Isn't there a Heat fan forum somewhere?

There was, but it got shut down because it was only active for the first 3 quarters of their games.

So exactly what/who covers these different generations?

Lebron, Wade, Melo, Chris Paul, Deron Williams...don't want to win...but Rose and Durant are so damn passionate about it...

Seriously, that makes no sense. Why did Lebron go to South Beach? Why did Wade want him there? Why did Paul go to a contender? Why does he want to put together a super team? Wasn't Howard in the Finals a couple of years ago? Is it his fault that the Magic don't win titles?

That theory makes no sense...

And how can it not be at least partly Dwight's fault for not winning at least one title?

I wasn't aware that D-Will, Lebron & Co were on their way out the door..? Irving, Rose, Westbrook, Durant, Love, etc will be co-existing with these guys for many more years to come.

The Clippers coached by Vinny Del Negro (Though probably not for long) are a contender?

Chris Paul went to a contender?

Chris Paul left New Orleans because he wanted to win. Obviously he was loved down there...but he doesn't want to be there...he wanted to be moved to a team with a promising future. The Clippers were not his choice initially. Paul wanted to play with his own version of the Big 3. But I have heard nobody question his will to win. And the Clippers are the 4th seed in the West. Vinny Del Negro is another situation entirely.

He deserves as much of the blame for losing in the Finals as Love deserves for not making the playoffs, or that Durant and Rose deserve for not making the Finals at all.

I think its unfair for people to vilify these players like Howard for being critical of teammates/coaches for not pulling their weight but then accuse them of not having a will to win. Doesn't make sense...
