How about Coop takes over and hires a competent hitting coach.

Right Here.
that rules out all playoff bound teams and any of their head coaches and or bench coaches.

it will be alomar i bet. fuck.

Davy Martinez of the Rays and Terry Francona of the Red Sawx are also strong candidates.

They could also be waiting to see how the AL Wild Card race plays out between the Rays and Red Sawx.

I would think Ryne would still be available to interview as his "call-up" is a lot like a player September call-up

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
I'd imagine after Ozzie who was a virgin heading into 2004, the Sox probably want a guy who has been around and has gotten his feet wet.

EDIT: And hopefully not a Special person.

Sounds like Ryne. His feet wet would be the minors which was more than Ozzie had. Plus Ryne would not demand his own coaches like a more prominent guy might.

I meant more of major league managing experience. I probably should have clarified.

I think if you get that guy with experience he'll want his own people as coaches. The re-signing of Cooper and Baines for me points to a first timer.

Heyman boasted tonight that many in the baseball world think Tito will be available...he said mutual split.

I'd be okay with him returning to the organization. :yep:

I would have no problem if Ryno was the next Manager of the WS but the way its being laid out with Baines and Coop already signed it might be an inside guy like Buddy Bell.

Anyone think Manny Ramirez will ever manage a team?

He would be like Ozzie on crack
