is that why they added 4 extra bars and took away seats on the 300 level???
I guess more bars makes it more family friendly

Funny part is, for a mere $54 in standing room seats, you can enjoy walking over to one of those bars.... Silly ownership....

Wow... he obviously didn't run that stupidity by McGrinch before he said it... I haven't been to a lot of games in recent years but I can say that every game I've ever been to ever hasn't had a fight that i've seen. That I can remember. I think you've done away with that by charging 9.50 for a beer not raising ticket prices so families can't go.

I can recall one fight. I can also recall one almost fight. It is a bold-faced lie.

Seriously, I will offer the insult given to me by a Korean Starcraft Player when I completely cheesed a win from him:

Even more baffling to me is why he's even talking about it? There is no need? They have no need to cater to women either. They cater to money. And they have it all. And a full house. No need to even put yourself in this situation to even say stupid shit like this unless they want to see how dumb they can sound while still pulling the wallet out of your pocket.

Fame is a powerful drug so I am not surprised he said something.

And he cant really come out and say: "I want the Hawks to be a piggy bank! I want to increase all the prices so that the STH waiting list is minimal while prices are maxed out. I want to see just how much I can really get! Hawks tickets should be a status symbol in Chicago like the Cubs!"

"I want to cater to female fans" sounds SO much better. Because we all know rich people, the only ones that can go to the games now, NEVER drink to much and have uppity mouths. Only the poor fans that cant afford the tickets cause problems.

But that is what he wants his team to be. So I say:

WWW 4 Evah.

P.S. My old Hawks tik rep STILL calls me, even after i politely, yet with strong language, basically told her what I think the Hawks can do with my tickets...

I've seen 2 since I started attending in '98.

2.

One was an all out fight in which a dude fell quite a ways down the 300 level seats in the east corner.

The other was after the 1-0 loss to the Blues in the 2002 playoffs. Some dude in a suit got his ass royally beaten in the 200 level in the concourse.

Let me rephrase... why is he saying anything at all. His only job is to sit there and count money. But like you say, fame is a powerful drug.

It sure did for me... I did go to the banner raise with my lady friend, but only really because she wanted to go and she promised to to wear nothing but the hawks sweater when we got home.

I miss going to games, but I dont REALLY miss going to games :icon-smile:

But principle must come before passion.

*EDIT* Unless the passion is related to partial nudity mixed with Hawks sweaters...

I've just honestly never seen this said ever before by any owner or any team... it categorically doesn't make sense. Should the teams out in California then double their ticket prices to combat the violence? They are winning... prices go up.

Exactly.

Giants/Dodgers tickets should be 1000 a seat by that logic.

I still like the Hockey. I can not lie. Unfortunatley I'm being priced out of my seats and refuse to sit upstairs it's just not for me.

So less and less games for me as well.

Ulitmately that's what they want though. The would rather have corporations and or businesses that put a different ass in those seats every game. Because lets be honest we aren't going to be spending the money on Beers, Crap in the Stores, and over priced, mediocre food every night we are there.

While the individual attending 1-2 games a year, with family, most likely will.

Concur on all fronts. And that is how I was going too... When I first bought tickets, I bought two, thinking I could sell two and there is no way I will get to 42 home games...

But I did. So the following year, I only kept one seat. That sucked too since I need the tickets to compensate with the fairer sex for my bald head and physique that resembles a bag of wet oatmeal. Got two more with aisle and everything was perfect, then they skyrocketed the prices so that I was selling more than attending.

When that happened, I figured, what is the point of keeping them if all I am doing is making sure I have playoff seats? So now, I take the money that would have spent on ST and put it aside. I can still go to any game I want. Leftover cash is used for other fun stuff.

While I will always miss my ST and going to all the games, I dont miss fueling this organ-i-zation. The most important vote you have is where your dollars go. So... I voted with my dollars.

problem is you vote with your dollars there are 15k behind you to replace you. They know this, so they don't give a shit about you.

You are completely correct. So... Dont give a shit about them right back. Worked for me!

Because you, as a long time fan, like the other STH present and past, know there is nothing like being there for the game.

But you cant even go to the games for the money.

If you arent going anyway...

Dont get me wrong, I get it. Making the decision to ditch my seats was truly one of the harder decisions I have made. If I went back on this forum and looked at my posts, I am sure they are filled with nothing but seething anger. And I know you have had yours for MUCH longer than I had mine.

Little by little the veneer of St. Rockwell of Madison St. is being ripped away. But at this point, you guys are absolutely right - the demand far outweighs the supply. My $75/game 300 level seats that were $15 a half-decade ago would be snapped up in a heartbeat if I ever dumped them.

And the ***** of it all is, when you look at average NHL ticket prices, the Hawks are still hanging in the middle of the pack. So there's a lot further up to go.

depends on what section forklift. And remove the Canadian market out of your equation.
