I've been doing a little investigation of who the Bulls might go after in next years draft and two guys(both foreign born) stuck out to me.

The first guy is a kid named Sabonis, a freshman at Gonzaga.

--- 6'10" 230#. Played about 10 minutes a game with the Zags and averaged 9+points a game. When he is done growing he'll likely be about 6'11" and 250#.

--- Left handed shot with good mobility at the power forward position. Excellent face up defender and defensive rebounder. Nice touch around the basket.

--- Nice footwork. Tape showed him switching off defensively and quickly coming back on pick and rotation plays. Plays tough face up defense.

--- Runs the floor very well and can handle it on the break. Reminds me a bit of Noah in this area.

--- I could see Sabonis as eventually replacing Gasol or Gibson at power forward but the guy has a future for sure.

The second guy is a guy named George Lucas De Paula, and is playing in Brazil

--- 6'5" 200# point guard with a 7'1" wing span. A good scoring point guard who may end up playing shooting guard.

--- Left handed jump shot but his great skill is getting to the basket. Really good post up ability and ball handler. Plays pretty physical.

--- Very good position defender. Not a great athelte but very strong. Runs the floor well and passes well.

--- The Bulls need a big guard and this guy could be it down the road at either the 1 or the 2.

1. Are they white?

2. Have they played in a final four?

George Lucas has been on my radar for some time too. But IMO, he's going to get hyped into the top 18.

Idk about going after a mother big. I'm all for a guard, might be smart to get a pg to start grooming

I wouldn't mind going after Dunn either, depending on how far he slips. Potential 2nd round steal.

A PG and Center would be ideal, although this draft has a lot of gems at SF in our range, which might be hard to pass up.

I think they have to go PG or C at this point.

Yeah you're pretty much aiming to draft a replacement for Rose and Noah. Though I have no idea how you can replace lottery players without drafting in the lottery..but I guess if GarPax can do anything right it's find a gem in the late 1st.

Well...we could get one or the other, but we're not getting both this draft. The other you just want to be a solid role player who can contribute on both ends.

If we get some sorta Whiteside type of C, great...perhaps we can draft a Beverley type PG and roll with that. Thibs would like that kinda defensive minded group anyway (assuming he's still around).

Well if we draft someone that doesn't pan out. It's a waste, even if we draft for need. I'd rather pick the best fit/highest stock, even if we don't necessarily need the player. Open trade options and/or 2016 flexibility.

We do need some defense though, whether we keep or axe Thibs. Dunn's surgeries were precautions, and he's a potential perennial all-first NBA defender slipping into the late 1st, and he isn't a one-trick pony either. I know we have an issue with having healthy players, but his ceiling is so high.

If he somehow managed to slip all the way to the 2nd round (Dejaun Blair style) you jump all over that. But I suppose it's all a matter of who's available when we pick. It's really just hoping that GarPax can pull yet another gem out of the late 1st, regardless of position.

I would consider him much lower risk than Blair. But yeah, we know what will happen at this point. McDermott was the only predicted pick in a LONG time, but only if we landed the trades. For this draft, we'll all have our favorites, the media will have favorites, the mocks will have favorites, then the Bulls pick comes up, and we'll all be like "Who?".

Wasn't there just an ESPN special on these guys? Sabonis, btw, is the son of Arvydas Sabonis, there will be a ton of people that know about him.

I was wondering about that, but was too lazy to look into it.

I vaguely remember flipping on a college game and he was on one of the teams...but he was injured or something.
