we talking about Kris Dunn?

can hardly find anything on him..only thing is draft express and it says hes gifted athletically, shows good point skills, has defensive upside but is a bit turnover prone and has a shaky jumpshot

sounds sorta like this years Elfrid Payton

Dunn has a long wingspan, which the team seems to like. he is a good defender and plays the passing lanes well. He can attack the rim and is a good passer. He reminds of of John Wall with his ability to know when to score and when to pass. But he may not come out this year. I believe he is a sophomore.

His quickness is like Lowry. It comes in bursts, but he doesn't maintain speed. He is more strength than speed.

He isn't as athletic or quick but he is real close. He got a lot of hops. His last game against Butler he put on a show dunking all over the place. If we can land him he will be a nice get.

I was looking back at the last couple drafts and honestly, the FO has made some pretty smart choices. Other that teague, there hasn't been a guy that has been 100% bust. Especially with Snell breaking out and Butlers transforming into all star jimmy. Guess you just gotta hate on their free agent deals. Mainly the Booze Cruise.

George Lucas has been on my radar for some time too. But IMO, he's going to get hyped into the top 18.

Thats okay. They have more than enough assets to move up to get him.

A PG and Center would be ideal, although this draft has a lot of gems at SF in our range, which might be hard to pass up.

I think both and point guard and a power forward should be on their radar because I assume that Gibson will be traded and Gasol likely has only one of two good years left. They might be able to get a decent center out of trade for Gibson.

Wasn't there just an ESPN special on these guys? Sabonis, btw, is the son of Arvydas Sabonis, there will be a ton of people that know about him.

Yeah. I wasn't sure if he was his son or younger brother. Arvydas was a very crafty big man and one of the best Euros to ever come out and into the NBA. So the kid does have some good genes in him!

No doubt that their draft decisions have been excellent over-all. Anyone know who is responsible for that? I know that they do cover the foreign leagues very well. This is why I started looking at Sabonis and De Paula. There are also some pretty good centers and other power forwards in those leagues if they want to back up Noah.

Jim Paxson and Brian Hagen are responsible for organizing scouting for the drafts(plus the actual scouting staff, which has former all-around scout and ex-coach Tom Barrise and I forget the other guy). Two powerhouses in scouting IMO. John Paxson is also good with scouting players. In addition, yes, we have an international scout on retainer. But IIRC, that's a special position, and he isn't active with the team, only for parts of the year despite holding an organizational position. He's been with the team since 1990ish, and was responsible for Kukoc. So really, this front office is built around scouting players more than it's built around woo'ing free agents.

Thanks for the response. And you are right about their scouting being much better than attracting free agents. What we have now is really the product of good scouting and bad free agents.

GarPax made some money trades back in the day. But yet they are still stand pat GarPax. Kinda funny how that turned out.

they are good at dumping salary or getting future assets

but they lack at trading for established talent that would help us right then

Salmons/Miller is the only trade you can say made us better at that very moment and they kinda lucked into that one as the reason for that trade was to get rid of Noc

Well they also haven't really made any trades the past few years save for the Luol Deng trade so that's also where that comes from. For all we know, though, they've been trying but failing to acquire the immediate talent.

Thats okay. They have more than enough assets to move up to get him.

So in one thread, you complain the Bulls don't have a good enough bench. Here you say they have more than enough assets. Which is it?

whats funny about the Deng trade is they traded him for almost nothing to basically sign Pau Gasol when they wouldn't trade him for Gasol years before...kinda funny how that worked out
