GB had a great draft. Their 3rd round pick, Montgomery, is the best returner in the draft and the guy will be a stud out out of the slot or as a 3rd down back. THe kid is chiseled at 6' and 210# and has excellent speed. Stanford had qb problems last year otherwise, Montgomery would maybe have been a first or for sure 2nd round pick.

They also picked up the best cover safety in the draft and a good corner with their first two picks. It was a great draft for the hated people from the North.
Are you going off of return stats?

Stanford QB situation isnt bad

Jared Goff and Cardale Jones are both head and shoulders above those prospects listed. Some are also high on Hackenberg. So at least 3-4 legit prospects for next year including Cook that the Bears could have their eye on.

I don't know what Cardale Jones is. Neither does anyone else. So to say a guy who had five TDs and two INTs is "head and shoulders" above anyone else seems premature.

As far as Hackenberg, what the heck happened to that guy last year? If he keeps throwing nearly as many (or more) INTs and TDs, we'll have Cutler-lite on our hands. Doesn't seem "head and shoulders" above Grayson, Petty, etc., yet.

Hey, I'm not hating. I'm not saying those guys definitely will not be good, or even very good at the pro level. But I do know there is little to no indication that they will definitely have better pro careers, to the tune of saying they are "head and shoulders" above this year's guys.

Yeah i made a comment about Montgomery as well about him being a dangerous weapon for them.

WR's currently on roster Mike Wallace, Charles Johnson, Jarius Wright, Cordelle Patterson TE - Kyle Rudolph

RBs - AP, Matt Asiata, Gerald McKinnon

They also drafted Stefon Diggs, who has Lockette / Dorsett type potential if he can stay healthy. None of those receiving threats are a 1A guy, but they have a lot of options and a LOT of speed. If AD comes back like AD and Bridgewater stays steady and accurate, they'll be dangerous. The defense is set for years with all those young talented guys and Zimmer coaching them.

Each of our divison rivals drafted to suit their own roster.

Greenbay will hit and miss like all teams.

Personally, Zimmer got a lot of players to fit onto his roster. they tried to help Bridgewater/whoever is running the ball this year on ther interior.right side of the line. Same on the D, especially in the middle at LB and on the edge.

The Lions wanted to build on the running game they developed last year with Bell in particular and now they add a change of pace/hard RB in abdullah. Lombardi got what he wanted to aid his attempt to tak pressure off of Stafford.

We, as Bears fans will shit all over those drafts. Personally, as of right now, our division is as competitive as it has ever been, Physical, with talent and exciting for the upcoming season. This could all change through the various upcoming camps. Still, would we all not rather have a competitive divison than one that is totally one sided each season?

I really like what Minnesota has done. They will pass up the Lions for #2 in the division next season if AP is there.

That defense is going to be stout next year under Zimmer.

Minnesota had the all name brand draft. They drafted a lot of guys who were well covered in the draft process.

Detroit's draft did little for me, an OG and Abdullah are hardly show stoppers.

Green Bays draft looks mediocre on paper, but I have learned not to question Thompson.

The Vikings draft was decent, I agree with your assessment

I disagree with the Lions however, because I feel they got exactly what they needed. They got a G who excels in both run blocking and pass defending, is a mauler, and going into this draft I thought Abdullah was the clear 3rd best RB, very close behind Gordon. I was actually hoping by some miracle we could draft him in the 3rd, he is forte-ish. Catches well, and has the 2 best traits for RBs in spades, explosion and vision. He also has a jump cut every bit as good as Beast Mode, and in fact many scouts compared Abdullah to Lynch. To add to their run game they added PFFs best run blocking FB. If they put together a good OL and run game, they could be very dangerous on O, to go with their very good D. I think they got one of the biggest steals in the entire draft in the 7th round.

The Pukers draft seemed meh to me, but got some decent looking pieces in rounds 4-7 that could have above average production for the round in which they were drafted.

Loved the Bears first 3 picks. They were A material and I think all 3 will be key players for the Chicago Bears in the future.

Wasn't a huge fan of the last 3 though. I think there was better value available.

Saying GB drafted the best cover Safety in the draft isn't saying much, it was a shitty draft class for Safeties. I wasn't at all impressed with GBs draft. In fact, I think it was the worst in the division.

The difference is that with a team like GB, people give them a benefit of the doubt like what happens with the patriots and don't downgrade them as much for taking guys they didn't like.

In other words, when grading a draft, all these writers are really doing is awarding points to the teams that most closely agreed with their won pre-draft rankings. Except for a handfull of teams like GB or the Pats - in which case the writers assume those orgs know better than them.
