NHL 12’s menus can be occasionally confusing, but the sheer amount of content here makes that acceptable.
8.0 Graphics
For representing such a fast-moving sport, NHL 12 looks great. Animations occasionally border on laughable, unfortunately, which detracts from the experience.
8.0 Sound
The commentary works great (although sometimes inaccurately). A decent soundtrack will get stuck in your head, a staple of EA Sports’ games.
8.5 Gameplay
If you love hockey, you’ll love the way NHL 12 plays. Intuitive controls let you delve right into the experience. Everything in terms of the control scheme just makes sense.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
If NHL 12 is your cup of tea, you’ll be busy for a very, very long time.
