So I broke down and got NHL13. So this is what drug addict is about. You want to quit but keep coming back to the crack pipe, got it good to know.

The game as it stands is pretty god damn solid. Some tweaking here and there and that's about it. The early release in hindsight seems like a beta compared to the actual release. This game needs no major adjustments, just fine tuning. In Be A Pro you feel like you are playing hockey, your shifts are about a minute but you are going full bore. The skating engine is still glorious as it was in early release.

Gamespot gave the game an 8.0 while giving NHL12 a 9.0. Now they cited lack of new features for a negative. The writer obviously isn't a hockey fan, he might enjoy playing the video game but outside of that the guy doesn't have the passion. NHL12 was the worst entry on this gen's consoles. It lasted 3 days before being tuned into a pile of shit. NHL13 needs no new features because the best features were the skating engine, collision detection, and puck physics. Sure those 3 things have some weird bug type quirks sometimes. But those three things made this game fun. It feels like real hockey, it looks like real hockey. Any guy that has played the game on ice will agree it is the closest to the real thing that EA has ever achieved. As a sports game how gamespot didn't give it a 9.0 or better is fucking tragic since this has the potential of taking the place of NHL09 in my heart and ask Dante, I'm one of EA's toughest critics and as it stands I'm pretty fucking impressed.

Hahah, I know the feeling man. I told myself I was going to stop pre-ordering games after I got Fallout NV because of how bad it was off the line. I told myself $60 wasn't worth the pain of having to beta test it for them.. but then Amazon does these sweet exclusive and discounts and I'm right back in the game. Syndicate, $40 after rebate and hope of satisfied nostalgia of childhood game, NCAA football $45 after rebate, Borderlands 2 $50 after rebate and premiere club, ect... I have a baby coming for gods sake, when am I even going to find time to play. But I need my fix.

Trade the baby in at gamestop for nhl13.

On another note, I swear I will wish a terrorist attack on EA, if the fucking unlocks dont unlock.

I too bought NHL13. Yeah in BAP, you will actually need to spend points in endurance first game I played, my boy was spent after one rush up the ice. Thats one thing I notice, certain things in the previous games for stats didnt seem to do a damn thing for your character.

I got 2 goals and an assist in a 3-2 over St. Lou. But there was a MAJOR bug. Ok games tied 2-2 with like a minute left in the 3rd....St. Louis.....PULLS THEIR GOALIE?! No it wasnt a delayed penalty that got directed in I scored on an empty net off the faceoff that was in their zone. As the players were setting up for the faceoff I looked and im like....um where did Halak go?

So they committed alot of sins there....1 pulled the goalie when they are tied, 2 did it when the faceoff was going to be in their own zone, 3 didnt win the faceoff.

I mean the only time I can comprehend a team doing that is in a tournament where a team must win and not tie.

I can see endurance being nice but I think it finally drains at a realistic rate. Average hockey shift is 45 seconds, that's pretty much up and down the ice once and that's about what my shifts were, up, down, change. I can see endurance paying off on kills and power plays or for when you get stuck in your own end and can't clear it (if you shift realistically like I do) if not then that dont matter.

One thing they could fix is the puck chop. It's a nice new feature but it's damn near impossible to pull of at high success rate. It only seems to work about 30% of the time.

I haven't even figured out how to use it. Was told it was in there but was thinking it was a myth. Like the Loch Ness Monter.

You basically glide up to the puck, hit the poke check button and swipe the left analog left/right or down depending where you want the puck to go.

uh huh I see. I was just ecstatic to see they put defense back in the game. Poke check is the awesome sauce.

For real I love poke check now. It sucked before because you could stick all over the puck repeatedly and nothing.

I will join you in that wish. No way I'm paying to unlock a boost.

Last game all the do X in your first season boosts wouldnt unlock because it didnt register the season as ending, Until the end of season 2. Which at that point, it registers 2 seasons, so doesnt give you credit for what you did in season 1. They never fixed it.

I find it interesting our home ice is "Chicago Stadium"... Anyone else notice that? LOL Would be kinda nice if it were the real thing, ya know?

Why is that? Because they can't use the team United Center? Or they have to secure separate rights for that? Are the other teams stadiums like that or does it say Staples Center?

I think they have to get the rights individually and I am guessing the price was too steep. Same with goalie masks, have to get permission from each artist seperately
