Yeah... I had a ton of other groups that fell into that and the guilty pleasure category... Vertical Horizon, Dishwalla, Sister Hazel, Counting Crows, Blue October, Third Eye Blind, Tonic, Stone Sour, Nine Days, The Wallflowers, Seven Mary Three, Semisonic...

Its weird cause that whole alt music wave came out of a huge indie scene. Only it was before internet distribution, so record companies were still in control and deciding who who national exposure.

The internet and the ease of recording has done so much for music imo.

I'm giving you a -1 for DMB

lol, I like DMB. I always felt bad for that band. Somehow they got saddled with what might be the worst fanbase of all time.

I was at a DMB show and he debuted a new song. I think it was christmas song or something. Anyway, he told the crowd it was brand new and important to him. And he came to the front and played it solo on acoustic guitar. It should have been a special live moment, but the talking was so loud you could barely even here the song. Fuckin drunk idiot fratboys. I felt bad for him.

That is crazy. I just went out to get beer and ice, and on the way home All Along the Watchtower was on the radio. I was sitting here singing it to myself when I read this.

has anyone ever seen one of these SG?

I personally don't care for SG's...but I wouldn't mind having one with a varitone.

In the right hands though:

(I think it is a junior with no varitone however)

Muse, Weezer, 3 Doors Down, Blur, Fuel, Everclear, Faith No More, Better than Ezra, Eve 6, Filter, Collective Soul, 311, Incubus, Cake, NIN, The Verve Pipe...

The 90's wasn't a total loss.

I'd put Audioslave in there too, but they missed the cutoff by a year or two.

No Stone Temple Pilots?.

How the band has maintained to stay together while not using the mainstream formula is pretty impressive.

I'm a big Marc Ford fan too...his solo records are really good!

What's the deal with the Counting Crows? I happen to think they're good, but it seems like you either have to be a chick or a fruit to like them.

Another one of those early 90's bands that I think slipped past a lot of people, but were actually freaking amazing.

Blind Melon kicks retro ass. So much, that for a time I thought "No Rain" was a Yes song.
